    problem is I’ve not found where he lives, and the only place i see him is under the bird feeder.. so don’t want to put down poison and possibly take-out some of my feathered friends as well…

    … and I’ve been out and bought me a ‘gun’!! well a cheapo air rifle actually.. and coincidentaly the rat has gone in to hiding…

    no marmite tonight, thats my breakfast time treat…

    spooky ref the rat shooting.. I was just saying tonight to my sister that i need to go and buy an air rifle to get the buggers that hang around below the bird feeder… just hope that they’ll be obliging and hang around long enough for me to get ’em.. its been a while since i had an air rifle (about 25 years) and my Dad still goes on about that broken window…

    in his book JJ recounts that he didn’t fire on it due to the confusion around its identity… he mentions the ‘twin rudders’ and the possibility of it being a new type being manufactured in America… however he was fired upon by the gunner in the upper dorsal turret… the ‘Dornier’ escaped in to low cloud after hitting one of the other Spitfires….

    ah you mean non-spitfire things like the attached (pictures taken at Blackbush but not by me)..

    I suppose the Air Britain site may be a good start if you have a specific query although I think you’ve got to be a member of their organisation to access their forum..

    if not then Pprune has some knowledgable people on its histoy and nostalgia forum

    I took the attached photo on the viewing area at Frankfurt airport many moons ago… looks a bit odd so I assume its a replica??? from memory there was also a Komet on display.. are they still there?
