there’s often slots available but not often at times of the day that suit major carriers but which may be acceptable to smaller operators..I think also that start-up operators got first pick at any slots that became available for whatever reason.. also a lot of slot-swapping goes on at the twice yearly slot conference – don’t forget you may have a slot at your departure airport but you’ll need a matching one at your destination…. BA will have held on to their concorde slots which they’ll be able to utillise for something else….

it seems to be mostly picture questions, which doesn’t quite work here but there is one set of questions, but not multiple choice.. theres a board that comes thats set up like an airfield circuit which you have to complete then go on to ‘finals’ etc and land.. presumably by answering questions correctly?
anyway, sample questions…looks like on each card you have a choice of a question on civil a/c, military a/c, ‘general knowledge’?, military aviation history, and civil aviation history…
1) for what purpose was the boeing 747-123 designed for.
2) what a/c project did UK secretary of state George Younger cancel in 1986
3) where is the fleet arm arm museum
4) in which a/c did baron von richthofen score most of his victories
5) in what decade was the first parachute descent by a woman.
now that some of you are back from the pub i expect some interesting answers..
and remember I’ll have to take the answers I have here on the card… and its just for fun… nothing for a pair – not in this game.. what do points make?….. bernie – the bolt…
answers tomorrow…

2
.. and one through Biggin Hill (21/1/78)
anyone recognise these or know their fates ?
Neil.
it was a different a/c in Flypast, thats what made me dig this one out..
well just one more then… what happened to this ex-belgian Af a/c? did it make it to the USA ?
afraid not, but on the same day….
any idea what happened to this one? hopeless photo taken at Blackbushe 19??
thanks for that.. I knew someone here would know!
Neil.
well, everyone else seemed to be digging out their old photos from the shoebox under the bed, so thourght I’d join in!
its Bovingdon.
Neil.
Yep happy New Year to you all… have a drink for me as I’m staying in with the lurgy that I picked-up on holiday (most people pick up a woman, all i get is ill!)…
see you at the next meet, wherever that is…
Neil.
you beat me to it Flood, I’ve just been looking at the same pictures!
the front end of the a/c in Goa is definately ‘suspect’… i was a bit thrown when I first saw it as I was expecting a later model with the ‘pointy’ front end… yep the exhaust stubs look wrong and I think that the prop spinner should be nearer the ‘intake’ ? also as someone else mentioned the lack of fairings on the u/carriage makes it look strange.. as i mentioned before, not much info with the a/c except this one had last been used as a target tug… I wandered around trying to find someone who may’ve known a bit more, or even a guide book, but afraid no luck… if you want to have a whip round I’ll go back if you like, I’ll even put up with the discomfort of 11 hours on an A300 Airbus in charter config..!
Neil.
there was virtually no info ref the history of individual a/c however apparently this particular Seahawk had a combat history in the 1971 india/pakistan conflict….
