actually I’m showing my age by using the term OAP as I believe Senior Citizen is more usual these days.. even the Kinema just lists ‘concessions’ rather than OAP discount 🙂

,Scarborough was a disaster area.
We drove up the coast and found Whitby ,
interesting, both are do-able as day trips from here and I much prefer Scarborough for a day out, especially the North Bay which has a nice cafe with bike parking outside 🙂 The ride up to Whitby is good, but i find the town itself full of coachloads of OAPs shuffling around the narrow pavements with their bag of chips :rolleyes:

I’m about 40 miles due north of Jim and I’m very happy here… generally tucked away from the world but not that remote, lovely roads for riding our bikes (of the motorised variety of course 🙂 ) 15 mins door to desk commute, lovely beaches 20-odd miles away (whilst the hoi-poloi pack themselves into skegvegas), big open skies in one direction and the wolds in t’other, 2 ‘live Lancasters 15 mins either side of me… 🙂

if you’ve not been before, its worth popping into The Bluebell pub just round the corner for a pint and to look at the collection of photos on the walls 🙂
