    thanks for that chaps..

    looking at a couple of sites out of the the backof a magazine(!) the cost per slide is between 55p and 65p per slide at either 800 or 1000 DPI… I go down that route for a couple to see how they come out then look at investing in a scanner…

    RobAnt… looking at yr site I see that you use a Fuji Finepix 2800.. pictures look good to me… had any probs with it as I’ve seen then advertised for good price recently.

    I’m sure that i read that PA474 was always painted to represent a/c that accomplished 100 missions?? or am i making that up..

    hmm and to add to Duxfords PR ‘problems’ at the moment, did anyone else see an article by Germaine Greer in the Saturday Telegraph on 2nd Aug in which she complained about her geese being scared by a Lanaster that “came over at tree-top height” and how she was convinced that it was going to crash.. she then finishes by saying that “its time that the pilots stopped playing silly buggers with valuable antiques” !!!

    oh dear.. its all very well her ‘sexing-up’ her writing with such images but its doesn’t help the Warbird movement after the last couple of months does it..

    according to their website they also do tours on a weds but need to book in advance… I’ve not been but apparently theres also lots of non-aviation related ‘stuff’…

    also I noticed onthe PPRuNe forum that theres a proposal to “dig up the runway and plant trees”

    prpbably just a ploy to divert people away from the 2nd LGW runway debate for a while… can’t see it being feasible.. for instance i’d have thourght too close to LGW and on same/similar heading for ILS to work…dunno… and as mr A330 mentionned theres other places that are already more developed and have capacity…
    they should try expanding places like Humberside, Manchester etc.. not everyone who goes on holiday lives in the South East!!!

    their website lists more runs through the summer… I really must get to one of their night runs this year… normally around 5th Nov they have a big fireworks display with air raid sirens going etc.. again i’ve not been but supposed to be good..

    also someone published a photo recently of the 2 seater Spitfire thats lodging there being run up.. if the weather improves this weekend i’ll take a trip down and see if the Spit is still there.

    mine was Farnborough 1976….

    …and as entry for tonights Golden Anorak Award, I still have the tickets stubs!!!

    £1 entry for me and £2.50 for adults..

    I also found a ticket for the Anglo-American show at bassingbourne.. that was also £1… was there more than one of these?? if not, what year would that be ?
