[How is AR213 coming along, by the way?[/QUOTE]
Hello Daz,
‘213 is coming along nicely, still chasing the odd elusive part, engine is going off to Retro soon and the prop is due to go to Avia (it’s a Dh 3 blader not the old 4 blader) so we hope to have her back in the air by this time next year, or before, if things go well. Should be about as stock as possible once completed, TR.9D radio, flat sided hood and external armour glass screen, oval-glass gunsight, oxygen system and, if we can find a pattern to copy, mechanical undercarraige position indicators in the wings.

Hello guys, I saw the old girl earlier on this year. The Centre section is stored outside and has been for as long as I can remember, the nose section is also sitting outside looking quite sorry for itself. Ralph would work on the airframe if payment was forthcoming I should think, he virtually finished the centre section restoration, structurally, but it had to be moved outside when other projects needed the undercover storage space, can’t see what good it’s doing for the airframe but, as Firebird mentioned, the owners have other projects which they value more 🙁

Spitfire XIV MV262 – I’m sure that was there at Booker when I was there in 1996. Anything done on it since?
(I STILL haven’t found out who the pilot was who showed me around the restoration side! :()
Daz
I’m still unsure who your ‘mystery guide’ was, might’ve been Tom Allibone……
As for ‘262 the wings are finished, Hull Aero finished them a while back, the fuselage hasn’t been touched since you last saw her in ’96 but that MIGHT change soon, time will tell.

Hello Archer,
I stand corrected, thanks for putting the record straight. Anyone know if it’s planned to bring the Dutch Cat over for any shows this year?
Tom
….any friday but this one and You’ll be ok 😉 DC-3 fixing this week and hopefully paintball in Norfolk on Saturday so I won’t be near Booker from tomorrow ’till monday, PM me when you’re thinking about coming.
Tom
You were in the Camel?
I wish! only for some of the ground shots, only member of the team under 30! You might want to re-route via the north Bucks area at the mo if you fancy a bit of true dogfighting action 😉

Young Keith, still got an obsession with that excuse for an aeroplane made by Dh then? 😉 (not a Chipmunk fan) Yes I’m STILL there, what’s on the 17th btw? been getting the Dak ready as she’s got a booking in early June so what with it being ‘mad season’ it’s been a tad busy, if you’re around Booker and want to pop in come after 4 on a friday, as we finish at half-four and I’ll show you around.
Tom
Propstrike, it wouldn’t have been last year, must be over two years ago as the Tripehound moved to Breighton a few months after filming was complete. But, to answer your question it was filmed over the Stokenchurch cutting. Did you see the Eindekker out on the same day as well? only we did shoot the C4 doc ‘Who shot down the Red Baron?’ around the time you mention, if you see it again look out for ‘May’ (dodgy orange goggles) getting chased by ‘Von Richtofen’, my first time on the silver screen, darlings!

Was just precautionary, we did retracts on friday and she’s fine andwill be up again in the coming week, more airshow bookings this year so expect to see it around on the show circuit.

A little bird tells me that she’s off to the paint shop at Marshalls anytime soon, maintenance is all but finished and CAA are happy, bring on the ‘proper’ scheme 😉

Hello Chaps,
We at PPS were heavily involved in the trailer-shoot for ‘American Knight’ and upon seeing the results it looked fantastic, amazing what can be done with 2 aircraft (Camel and Triplane)! I don’t know when the real thing will be shot yet though and yes it is a shame about the same old love story but as most say it’s about getting bums on seats in the cinema, not necessarily having a three hour long film which consists of more shots of planes than the people who fly them. If Peter Jackson does start filming soon on his WWI project it should be very good, landscape in NZ resembles the Western Front quite well in places, he’s got to do it soon, otherwise why buy so many Tripehounds? We also did the Stella ad last year in the Czech Republic, quite pleased with the outcome of that one too, the late nights were worth it…
Tom
I’m off there tomorrow, not too bothered about seeing the Duxford crane circus 😉 I need a big fix of gas, anyone interested in going who’se in the Wycombe area or on the way to the circuit? as I’ve got a spare ticket going free, perk of having a boss who’se competing there 😉

I’m not going to say much other than pointing you in the right direction 😉

Cheeky monkey:p Here’s a shot from a month or so ago, the firewall’s currently being restored, a major job in itself :-O The biggest hurdles have been trying to source a windscreen and propeller but we hope to have overcome those snags now.
