I think that end of March is more likely. Should be good value as the cost of the aircraft if they were FSX add-on`s would be quite a bit 🙂

Check the cable that links the stick to the throttle. Does it work when you test it on the control panel/game controllers?

He is nearly 7 and has been “flying” FSX for well over a year. If the IL2 series is too demanding is there an alternative – preferably WW2?

It IS possible to turn off things like stall, spin, engine torque and fly “no cockpit Wonder Woman view” unlimited ammo, and other settings in the difficulty set up screen. 1946 is the best 🙂
