As it says at the top of the Display page, all aircraft participation is still subject to confirmation. Everyone is working hard to get the ‘Fish up and running again, but as always all news will be given via the News page as and when it happens, and the display programme will also continue to be updated throughout the season.
Keep checking back.
Cheers

Yes, VZ345 is still in the storage hangar – what’s left of her.

The remaining mainplanes for LS326 are due very shortly. The completed upper centre mainplane has been refitted and late last week the Pegasus was also re-installed. It was tested in W5856 as far back as late 2005 and has been inhibited ever since.

Meanwhile work proceeds apace with the training of the nominated Swordfish pilots utilising the RNHF Chipmunk and the Provost T.1 of Kennet Aviation.
Everything is coming together. All hands are at the pump to ensure that LS326 WILL fly in 2007!
Keep checking the RNHF Website for the only OFFICIAL news as it happens.
Probably hindered by using two photos side by side.
Suggest you play around wth your resolution for the time being – I’m on 1200 x 800
That’s the server that looks like its gone down temporarily – nothing to do with me I’m afraid. It was working fine a few mins ago.
I had a message from one of the other forums saying they had closed their Favourites down and could see the site now with no overlapping probs.
Keep trying.
Guys
Firstly thanks for the comments on the article.
I’ve tested the News page in IE, Firefox, Netscape and Opera and don’t appear to have any problems with viewing all of the text/photos.
However, it may be your screen resolution or the fact that you may have your Favourites list opened at the left hand side which effectively compressed the web page. When this happens text can often push over into the pics.
Give it a try and let me know.
Cheers

Sadly the aircraft is just too big, expensive and labour intensive. The SHAR was a non-starter due to the number of men and manhours it would take to operate, so a Sea Vixen is pretty much out of the question. RNHF only have 6 fitters and once the Swordfish and Sea Hawk are back on strength this season they’ll be pretty busy.
Very nice – I’ve seen some shots like this of 705 NAS Dragonflies at RNAS Gosport (HMS Siskin) elsewhere.
Wasn’t me, but I’d love to buy one. Where can I get it from? :dev2: 😀
Best wishes

Sorry, did I not say? 😀

Or stood on a cold Prestwick watching with trepidation as they tried to ‘bounce’ it, knowing that the clearance between the prop and runway wouldn’t be that great at full oleo compression……………..
Indeed – a fair bit of airmanship to do that.
Thanks again to those guys who bought the DVD over the weekend. Your orders should be with you shortly.:)
Yikes! 😮 Thanks for that. How did you get hold of the grip (and I don’t mean with your hand!! LOL).
Funnily enough I sat down and watched a big chunk of the vid yesterday afternoon. I got mine as soon as it came out back in either ’91 or ’92 (I was still an apprentice) and back then it was superb VFM and remains so today – arguably one of the best vids ever made on an aircraft. Mind you there are a few “secrets” I could tell about how the whole thing was made, but I can’t divulge them – besides, it would spoil your enjoyment! LOL.;) 😀
I have a photo of VZ345 upside down on the runway at Boscombe – the pilot was one lucky guy to get away with his life!
Well, just checked and found two DVDs were ordered yesterday, so if those guys are looking here I hope you enjoy watching them – I’m sure you will! 🙂
Rocketeer – do you have a photo of it?
Lee
Lee,
I didn’t know that it had period(s) without the periscope when with the RNHF, I think all my photos of it were with the peri fitted – you live and learn.
Tim
Have a look at the video/DVD (have I plugged it enough yet??:p ). She’s seen here without the periscope fitted in pretty much all of the filming.
Lee,
Surely the most discernible difference in the rebuilt “WG655” is the lack of the instructor’s periscope and its gantry which was an original feature that distinguished 655 (when with the RNHF) from all other surviving T.20s?Tim
Well not entirely – WG655 wasn’t always fitted with the instructor’s periscope when operated by RNHF for some reason.
As I said, the wheel hubs are the main giveaway when the rebuilt aircraft is on the ground – they look ‘orrible, though by all accounts work a lot better.
Anyway……the Sea Fury vid & DVD:;)
