Perhaps Egghead is a little too cruel.
I could hardly say that, now could I?! Pot, black, kettle comes to mind! 😀
But who’s this good looking chap ? :diablo:
A good egg!
Have milk crate, will travel… :p
Thanks guys. Just posted some photos from yesterday’s scorching day at VL in the Photographic Section.
That could describe any one of a number of people I know! :p
Please note that online sales of the tickets have now ended. For those who still wish to attend, though, a limited number of tickets will be available at the gate tomorrow (Saturday) morning.
Well if you see someone walking round with flourescent waistcoat and camera in hand, it will probably be me – say hi!
Hope you have a good day.
Duxford Navalised Fury……
…..you do, of course, mean Nimrod I!
[Edited – I’d only just got up too!!]
…..and hot on the heals of yesterday’s rather down-beat update, some much better news today – see the News section. 🙂
Long since moved on and now in California.
Dave
Any idea where in CA?
Have you ever tried finding spare a serviceable Centaurus?
I also think the engine gets an unnecessary bad press. It just needs a whole lot more TLC than most.
Lots of TLC (Terrific Lead Content) 😀
shes is presently residing at Amjet Aircraft Corporation (N994WM, ex G-SEAH, for sale), Polar Aviation Museum, Anoka County airport, Minnesota, USA
Had a look at their website but couldn’t see it listed – any link available?
Corrr, never mind the Fury in that last shot, look at G-SEAH sat next to her!! Anyone know what has happened to her lately?
VR930, RNHF Yeovilton….of course! 😀

Will see about posting a recent pic of VZ345 later….
No offence to Southern Cross, but if I had the money I think I’d have to make an offer on WG655, she’s an absolute stunner. Failing that, it would be nice to think she could be donated to the RNHF, and perhaps it would save on shipping costs if Eddie Kurdziel donated his Firefly at the same time…well, we can dream 😀
SIGH! If only……
Going back to the earlier comment, VZ345 is the only other Sea Fury that RNHF currently have. She is heavily robbed, having “donated” many parts during the rebuild of VR930, but she’s still on her undercarriage.
Page 69 of the superb “Corsair KD431 – The Time Capsule Fighter” by Dave Morris shows one of these plates as fitted to the wings of Fleet Air Arm Museum’s KD431. If this is indeed a Corsair wing then it is likely to be a starboard unit as indicated by the “R”.
Very interesting!
