RE: Happy Eid al-Adha folks …………………..

Griffin buddy, Good to hear from you.

Salaam, nice to meet you, Ghazi Eagle…

Yes, I heard it a couple years ago. Indeedly that PM John Howard had a plan to bomb Jakarta if even single Aussie soldier get killed by pro-Indonesian East Timor militia. I exactly do not know what kind of a/c planned to bomb our capital; it based in Darwin, Northern Territories, Australia. All a/c were combat-ready status. This secret plan finally leaked by the insider, a NZ army officer who was involved in planning that tasteless mission.

    >Question: Did Indonesians take the treat of Aussi Air
    >Force bombing Jakarta seriously? And if so what would have
    >been the outcome? Could the Indonesian Air Force have put up
    >a decent fight against the Aussies?

AFAIK, we considered it seriously, since our Type 209 sub had been prowling around East Timor sea spied on Western Navy anchored in East Timor. Our AF chiefs had warned that if they crossed the line, we’ll strike ’em.

Air intrusion commited by RAAF Hornets getting increased; on a occasion, two Indonesian Hawks (one Hawk 109, other Hawk 209) chased two F/A-18 Hornets that zoomed from Darwin. Our flyboy was near to shoot one of Aussie Hornet with AIM-9, but it was aborted from GCI. Knowing that, those Hornets zoomed back to Darwin.

At night, there was annoying events: A swarm of Aussie Hornets flew over El Tari AFB, Kupang, Indonesia in which the failed Hawks situated. It made our AF men pissed off!! That’s the way RAAF urinated our face.

Yes, we could face ’em. In DACT between RAAF and TNI-AU (Indonesian AF), our flyboys can outmanouvre the F/A-18s with F-16, even F-5E Tiger IIs. We hope we won’t getting involved into war since our a/c are getting depleted due to embargo imposed by USA…

    Thank you very much

    Salaam
