I remember one of the two developing a hydraulic leak from one of the rudder PCA’s shortly after the re paint. Poor old Kandi developed a dirty great streak across her face. It was a shame after all that effort.
    BTW what is Head Kandi?

The RAE liberary used to be run by Brian Kervel who used to collect historic RAE documents and artifacts. All of this stuff was part of the RAE museum. His retirement coincided with the closure of the RAE and it’s museum. All of it was transfered to the science museum and is held by them. I would expect that anything “historic” like that would have ended up with him and saved by him. His office contained some amazing things.

I remember an airline that started in the eighties flying second hand 747’s. The guy who started it was the head of a record company. He had no experience of running an airline and always looked scruffy, with his beard and jumpers. I wonder what ever became of that start up airline?

At Manchester on Sunday we had
    USAir A330-200 diverted from Paris
EK A380 that has stayed the night
SQ 777 that also stayed the night
We were threatened with a Qantas 747
EY were planning an extra two flights today and were going to bus passengers up from LHR
EY, Air NZ and QR bussed passengers up from LHR and operated the services out of Manchester.

    At MAN we had
    Virgin A340
    Air NZ 777
    Etihad A340
    Qatar A330 and 777
    BA 777 x2
    BA 737 x3
    BA 320

Cant tell a 340-500 from a 600 but they were one of them not a -300

Certainly would be. Alas, it seems no one on the forum is that close to this repair

And anybody that close, who posted pictures would proberbly get into a whole load of trouble:o
Somebody posted pictures of the damage to the 787 on the Planetalking blog and Boeing had them removed wery quickly. I should imagine the Boeing person that let them out would have had his plums squeezed by now!

    Thanks for that.
It would be interesting to see the extent of the damage to the structure inside(Stringers, seat rails etc, etc).

I don’t think that the A340 or A380 have the facility.
