It looks good. I can’t wait to see it in the flesh.
Whilst you are on that website if you scroll down a bit the is some video of a 787 being towed out of the paint bay. The curious thing about it is they are towing it with the freight bay doors open. That is an absolute no-no with all other pressurized aircraft. The 787 must be different then.

Yes it is, although there was an American DH88 comet replica that was painted as Grovesnor house. There were plans to bring it to the UK for an airshow season and they were going to get special permision from the CAA for the two aircraft to fly together without changing the markings.

I was on the flight deck of a 747 once on the ground when my mobile went off. The DME display went crazy and then went into partial fail mode. I was sitting in the captains seat at the time, so I was quite a bit closer than the passengers but I NEVER leave mine on when I go flying.

    Perhaps you’re right.
I wonder how John Travolta got around all those problems with his B707?

The design authority for the 707 family has not been withdrawn so John T would not have any problems KEEPING his 707 airworthy.

I never worked the 727 but I did work the 1-11 (Uhhhhh) The airline I worked for had a large fleet of them. None with the D B Cooper vane but we did look after a few Saudi exec 1-11’s. They all had the vane fitted, As I said DB Cooper has passed into aviation ledgend!

Yes the 320 is/was offered with a front airstair almost exactly like that.
You’re a 727 man, tell us about the aerodynamic lock fitted to the 727 after the famous hijack. I can’t remember the name given to it, but it has passed into aviation folk law;)

    It was an A727! :diablo:

    Oh THAT model Airbus!!!!!
Seriously I know that the 737 was offered with a rear airstair I thought that an Airbus might have had one too.

If you want to camp by air..I’d suggest a Cessna 208/206/185..or a Beaver.
But then, you might have to leave big screen TV/DVD at home. 😮

I’ve always fancied flying around North Canada in a Beaver float plane. Mind you they have bears and volves there:eek:

    It must be a joke!!!
The coments in the artical about the view of the terminal and the smell of jet fuel pale into insignificance when you remember that the APU is about six foot behind the balcony. That would make relaxing in the sun a little difficult!

Years ago, I recall a US Navy mechanic being sucked into the low intake of a F-8 or A-7…and he survived by holding on or someone grabbing his feet.
Wonder if the guy ever got his hearing back?

The A-6 has a set of guide vanes in the air intake. He got caught on them also the A-6’s engine has a set of guide vanes on the engine, just in front of the compressor. The CFM-56, CF-6, RB211, JT-9, ect, etc havn’t got anything infront of the fan.

This keeps hapening with the 737-3/4/500’s There was a guy ingested in Moscow after the incident that the pictures show. I think that there has been at least three incidents of this kind on the 737’s.
And yet the ground staff STILL take risks. I had to speak to a security guard on saturday that was a little too close to a 757 when it taxied onto stand. He said “It would have to be pretty powerful to such me in” I told him the story and spoke to his supervisor.
    It will happen at Manchester:mad:
