I would appreciate any info,or directions to find out further details of 579155 ,Sgt Geoff R Tate,of 208 Sqdn,RAF Fayid, who was killed after bailing out of Spitfire FR18,TZ211,on 5 Feb 1951,and is buried in Khartoum.I believe there was an article some years ago in `Flypast` that alluded to locals `tampering` with parachutes.
The reason for enquiring is that he lived not far from me on the I o M,and my parents knew his.
I`d like to `fill-in` details of his career, training ,etc, and any further details of his last flight.Syc..

Hello if you would contact me via E Mail, I am able to give you quite a lot of information about Sgt Tate, I am a friend of Sgt Bert Horton who is now 83 and in poor health. cousinjack@blueyonder.co.uk regards Jim
