Watched the programme and found it very informative and interesting. I didnt realise the politics involved behind it all, including the dodgey deals that went on.
Was in Galgary back in the 80’s, what ever happened to the Fokker Triplane that was in the basement of the Planetarium?.
G.
Yes it was very “dodgy” , the worst affect was on the Canadian aerospace industry. I do not believe that it ever recovered.
I am not sure about a Fokker triplane, but we do have a Sopwith triplane replica in the Calgary aerospace museum.
Just thought I would post the link to “Maid in the shade” she is at our local airshow this weekend in Calgary Canada, available for rides too.

Hope you do not mind 🙂
There are a number of different sized CO2 cylinders available for paintball guns, one of these may be the right size for you.
Thank you both for your identification of the quadrant.
Now I wonder if anyone needs it, I personally have no use for it.
Thanks again 🙂
Just an observation. Did they care about “edge distance” and are pop rivets the accepted fasteners ?
The craftmanship is superb !
Wasn’t that the canberra guys?
Just did a quick search, it was the Victor guys.

Have sent him a pm, but the parts he is looking for have different part numbers.
Took these pictures at Comox on Vancouver island. Canada.
🙂
Well here are the pictures of the Vampire in the Calgary aerospace museum as promised. A couple are a little out of focus, Guess I should not give up my day job 🙁
Bad news I am afraid, I went back to the base at Comox this morning and was told that the Vampire is being stored in a restricted area ( I guess anywhere inside is restricted on an active base ).
But Mike who is in charge of the Spitfire rebuild project said he will email me some photos when he can. So I will post those when I receive them and will post the ones of the Vampire in the Calgary museum this weekend when I get home.

I am out in Comox, B.C. Canada. at the moment looking at the Y2K mark nine spitfire’s progress.
They have a Mark III here and I believe there is a Mark III in the museum in Calgary. I have some photos of the Calgary one on my computer at home and can post them on the weekend when I get back home if you like.
Also I could photograph and gather some details on the one in Comox in the morning if you wish.
Rick
Sorry missed this one. 😮
Thought I would post some photos of the Mark 2 Anson thats in the Calgary Aerospace museum, Please be patient, this is my first post with attachments 🙂
Thanks for the info’ Mark.
My memory is a bit hazy, but I am pretty sure they were in civil livery.
I also remember seeing a lot of activity at Bovingdon airfield around the same time, probably were making Mosquito squadron.
