isn’t that a logistical headache simply to refuel the F-16 fleet ? They could instead buy the new CFT mounted probes and have them installed on their fleet..only interesting part is that they’re made at HAL (LM and HAL were jointly displaying this at Farnborough), although I suppose that if PAF wants them, LM could manufacture them at their FW plant itself.

No. They are not made at HAL. They are an concept designed and manufactured at LM.

It does seem to be a very logical decision based on finances, and especially if the new carriers can handle them.

However, it may mark the beggining of the end for the RAF/RN operating world beating equipment.

Claims the person who dedicated several paragraphs to derailing the thread. Why dont you simply ignore posts that are off topic as opposed to writing several paragraphs on such modern aviation related topics as the 1770 Bengal famine.

You then go on to smugly accuse others of off topic posts.

I am merely pointing out you seem to be running with the hare and hunting with the hounds…

I know I am going to get attacked in some quarters for this but what the hell.

This constant rumour mongering on the MRCA competition is getting rather tedious. I think I speak for many here.

Dont get me wrong, all these planes competing against each other is great, and initially very interesting, but when you read the 100th odd opnion peice with essentially no new information, and people dress this up as “news”, it gets boring. There are many other exciting things happening in Indian Military aviation.

Yes, journos and manufacturers will have their views and”inside information”, but everything means squat unitil the IAF decide (if they ever do).

How many years and how many more opinion pieces are we going to go through?

Lets not forget the USAF flew a KC-135 to Chakala in order for PAF to have a lookround, additionally last year and very recently at Nellis, PAF has been doing alot of sorties practicing refuelling using Boom method.

Might be pointing to a potential Boom tanker buy.

Air refuellers can let us keep CAPs up longer and gives PAF a host of options it did not have before. Additionally it creates a extra headache for IAF to think about in times of war.

For these reasons alone they are invaluable.

Does the Dorsal spine in the two seater house stuff or just extra fuel?

“Arey, I don’t remember the fleet strengths of small shiekhdoms like UAE and Qatar. Why don’t you fill in all the details for us, if you know ?”

Yet you still deem it fit to base your arguments on their fleet strengths, whilst now admitting you dont really know what you are talking about.

See why you have become a joke?

US delivers sophisticated missiles for F-16 to Pakistan

Pakistan has acquired sophisticated air-to-air missiles from the US for its newly inducted F-16 fighter jets, a move which will bolster its defence capabilities “manifold”, an official said on Tuesday. The first batch of AIM-120 Advance Medium Range Air-to-Air Missiles will be used with the new
Block-52 F-16 C/D jets of the Pakistan Air Force delivered by the US.

“The induction of these ‘beyond visual range missiles’ in the PAF’s inventory marks the achievement of another major milestone in the air force’s developmental plan and “bolsters its defensive capabilities manifold,” said an official statement.

The capability also brings PAF at par with other modern air forces in terms of sophistication of its air-to-air arsenal, the statement said.

This is the first time the PAF has inducted BVR missiles.

I think this is the C-5 version.

    Continuing from where Aspis left…

5, Be without Nukes. Americans will not attack any country which has Nukes. Or else a certain nation would have already been occupied.

    6. This is the single biggest reason why some rogue states (in American book) is trying to go Nuclear.

OT: There is no need to lay crap on any country. People who can read can go to Wiki Leaks and see first hand what role Pakistan is playing in Afghanistan.

    Flame all you like.

What has Pakistan got to do with an Israeli strike on Iran?

Reporting this to mods (assuming we have some).
