I think I must correct and complete some statements in this topic.
Bielik is described as light jet trainer, but its engineer Edward Morganski from firm ZRiPSL aimed it primary as powerfull sport plane for civil sector. In posted link is written, that it uses General Electric J85. It is true only for prototype. Serial planes will have more powerfull engines. One option is domestic WSK PZL-Rzeszow K-15. The second one, described by Prowlus as “squashed up F-15” π is another project from Poland called Scorpion. The project has been under development at PZL Okecie since 1987. It intended to produce an affordable fixed-wing battlefield aircraft for the Polish Air Force which would enable it to break away from reliance on Soviet hardware. The final design differs a lot from the original proposal. Scorpion !! mock-up !! was revealed on December 23, 1992. Final design includes nine pylons for 4000 kg of weapons (doubled from original). The standard gun was 25mm General Electric GAU-12/U, but there was also possibility to add a pod-mounted 30mm GAU-8. I am not sure, if the real prototype was built, but I will look on it. However, Scorpion was later replaced by more advanced design called Cobra.

Not very good quality, but the only picture of XB-53 that I found in an old magazine.
It is interesting that every attempt to replace B-52s crashed in 60s and 70s on technological and political difficulties and later on economy parameters. Maybe USAF should buy some B777s and equip them with bomb bays π

Does that disc shape make it stealth? or make its visibility less on radars?
I have seen those flaying disks in a program dont remeber but it was black and white and there were sientist around that flaying disk and was quit old movie.
Disc shaped aircraft has POTENTION to be more stealthy than standard plane. When you take a retrospective look on Avro Omega, it was very progresive and advanced plane, that could be less visible on radar.
Now the american firm Future Horizons Inc. is working on Geobat disc derivate for MoD, but I dont know the current status of it.
PS: It is highly probable that what you saw were Avrocar tests.
edisonone: disc shaped aircrafts were product of fully natural development. If you can create plane with rounded or delta or straight wing, you will create it and see, what it do. And if it is successfull, you can continue in development.
First rouded planes were made at the beginning of 20. century for example by Chance Vought or Lee Richards.

The Mi-17 production lines are not closed. Kazan and Ulan-Ade are still making Mi-17s in full throtle. The Czechs are getting new Mi-17s….14 if I`m not mistaken.

Statement about performance (and capabilities) compared to EH101 is only a wish. Maybe it will be reality sometime in the future, but now very hardly.
I really doubt it will be for at least another 15 years. The Hip series is cheap, robust and effective. They sell like hotcakes. No company in its right mind is going to close a successful line unless the new line is assured sales. And the Mi-38 doesn’t even have major Russian support.
I totaly agree. Mi-17 are so successfull not because Mi-38 production line is closed, but because it is much better to buy older, proven and cheaper airframe packed with latest equipment. Also I must mention that replace Mi-8/17 with Mi-38 means also replace all ground equipment, repair devices, extensive training on new type of machine… etc.
It is the same situation as with Mi-24/35. Why are they still acquiring orders in time, when many years exist their replacement (Mi-28 and Ka-50/50-2/52)?
Remember that for some missions is good to have two member crew on board – for example long range armed patrol. The fact is that this is not a goal of JSF, but F/B-22 had two seat cockpit.
Teoretically yes but the result will be wet damaged engine. π Take into consideration that in this position is the front of the plane pushed down with more weight, than during standard landing.

Just a very short guide to some allien made UFOs.
One of the first was Viktor Schauberger who falled down to Earth (like Alf) and destroyed his ship. Then he was designing the new one to return back home, but it was too small for him.

At the beginning of fifities, the most of alliens were concentrated at canadian subsidiary of british firm A. V. Roe (A. V. means Alliens from Venus). They designed two ships: Omega or Project Y – tail sitter and Silver Bug or Project Y2 – flat riser. But they were revealed and forced to cooperate with CIA and american government. Then they built antigravity hyperspeed disc Avrocar, that was later patented as the most powerful grass-mower worldwide.


Big alliens (especially green one) like to drink a vine and because that they infiltrated also France. The most famous of them was RenΓ© Couzinet – three legs and four hands humanoid from Jupiter. He built Aerodyne RC-360 disc. But he realized, that with nuclear antigravity engine it will be underpowered, so he used six Lycoming engines.

Soviet allien group headed by Sukhanov like Vodka very much, so they designed something less sophisticated.

This is the original FS-X design. I am currently writing a topic about this for my web.
The same argument applies still. If the moon footage is obviously faked, why didn’t Soviet scientists notice it? They would have a vested ideological interest in revealing that the landings were faked. Yet they somehow didn’t spot that “there were no stars in the sky”, or that “shadows were not parallel”… Could it be that, in fact, all the arguments put forward for it being fake are complete rubbish from beginning to end, with NO basis in science?
It is good to place sometimes this sort of conspiracy questions. You can after discussion confirm, that they are all fake.
