What is the serial number of your plane? Please describe the engine start procedure on the Su-24.
COLD START? ARE YOU A PILOT? I WILL NOT GO INTO SERIAL NUMBERS AS I DID NOT FLY A SU-24 FROM 1991 onwards thanks to saddam and the iranians ..ty
Sorry, for all ,but it’s not correct history,Saddam didn’t change airforce day from april to 22/09 is still in 22th April all to invasion in 2003 and airforce big celebration in 22/09 every year for remark a blitz attack Iran by Iraqi airforce.
I ASSURE YOU WE CELERBRATE 22/04 VERY MILDLY AND AIRFORCE DAY WAS CHANGED TO 22/09 SINCE 1995-2003
WHEN ADNAN WAS ALIVE HE INSISTED ON CELEBRATING 22/04 UNTILL HIS PLANE CRASH,,CONTINUED MILDLY UNTILL 1991.
NO CELEBRATIONS 1991-1995
AIRFORCE DAY BEEN CALLED AIRFORCE VICTORY DAY IS THE OFFICAL AIRFORCE CELEBRATIONS FROM 1995 WHERE WE GET PROMOTED IF IT HAPPNES PLUS 17TH JULY AND ARMY DAY 6 JAN..EVERY YEAR
INFACT I MADE MAJOR IN 22/09 1999
THANNK YOU TANGO
THE FIRST PIC IS ON A YEMENI SU-20 TY
Ok, man you are IRAQI_PILOT ,you must well knew a history of Iraqi Airforce 😉
i am sorry tango,,you see the iraqi airforce history hads been changed,,saddam changed airforce day from april to 22/09 every year to mark the opening sorties on the iranian airforce in 1980.
i honestly dont know the diffrence between gipsy and toger moths so sorry for my incorrect history:D
What former unit and where?

P.S I WAS THERE..OKI too would love to hear more about this…Though not in a fighter… I would have been the opposition flying drops in the C-130 in the north at (or near) the kickoff of the war.
sorry i wasnt doing any flying much either during that time as i flew the SU-24 fencer non of which remained in service,,keeping my time up in a fitter..cheers
the iraqi airforce was formed in 1927 as the royal iraqi airforce with 4 tiger moth biplanes from great britain, what amazes me is the united states finds what ever functional fighter left by the IrAF and ships it to the US.
these planes are the property of the iraqi people not MR.Bush,,,hearts and minds,,,regime change,,,WMD and all that kind of US Crap!
I CONFIRM NOT A SINGLE FIGHTER GOT OFF THE GROUND IN 2003 ALL PILOTS WERE TOLD TO (GO HOME) AS NO POINT IN EVEN TRYING,,,

P.S I WAS THERE..OK
vERY IMPRESSIVE THREAD,, the only country that tested the MIg-25 in combat was Iraq,,and during the iran-iraq war she was the queen of the sky,,the iranian f-14 not even close…
it shot down a USN f-18 in 1991.
i fly su-24 but the mig-25 is a complete diffrent experience
thanks for the pics
i love that plane.
😀
And were those 750 A/C of any kelp in 1991?
MY FRIEND,,in 1991 a top US general said that the Soviet Air Force could not face to the AIR ARMADA that was assembled..iraq is a third worl country…are you kidding
It isn’t about fighting WW 3. The just need something to patrol their airspace. But as ELP already wrote, without a widely accepted government, and peace within the factions, it is absolutely stupid to think about withdrawal of allied troops and a fastjet force.
If all those prerequisites are met, then I think used F-16 and later on JSF will do just fine.
WOULD YOU THINK THAT A EUROPEAN FIGHTER JET..i-e..Mirage F1 prob 2000 would be a better option than the F-16
QUOTE=Canpark;1070074]I heard the CIA bribed Iraqi air force commanders leading up to the invasion, so when the U.S began moving in from Kuwait in 2003 the Iraqi air force was virtually dead. Allied forces later captured Iraqi airbases with aircraft still in good condition and intact.[/QUOTE]
NO NO RESISTANCE AT ALL, NOT A SINGLE FIGHTER GOT OF THE GROUND
CONSIDERING THINGS ARE GOING TERRIBLY WRONG IN IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN , 12-15 YEARS IS A BIT OPTOMISTIC DONT YOU THINK..MORE OF A 12-15 MONTHS BY THE LOOKS OF THINGS:D
affrod…when oil was 12 dollars to barrel IrAF operated 750 tactical fighters/fighter bombers plus another 90 or so training/cargo/airlift
mmmmm oil reven. today ?
oh and if you think after all this america is still thinking of that oil your mistaken my friend..it wants one thing only..to get out in a way that saves face
yes sir we can very much AFFORD an airforce:)
