AS I SAID IN A PREV. POST.
iraq will be handed the remaining operational aircrafts by the end of this year and i dont agree with you ..there is a need as petrolling the desert borders vital in addition to long range helicopters
and as i said..i will post the types..serial no. if i get to know them of those aircrafts.
we had an airforce in 1927 what makes you think we dont need one..

Cart before the horse. Have to have a stable government in Iraq for a while before we give them fast moving jets. Some towns still resemble Dodge City. Since we needed about 4-500k leg troops to pacify Iraq originally when we went in there, thinking Iraq is going to be stable is whistling past the grave yard. We have a smaller ratio of troops in Baghdad ( talking trigger pullers not support troops ) than what New York City has of police.

Seeing as our plan to make Iraq stable is nothing less than moronic, the only way I see Iraq being stable now is getting an Ouija Board and contacting Sadaam for advice. Typical government operation. We fire the only guy that could keep that country wired together.

GIVE THEM…I DONT THINK YOU WILL not BE ASKED FOR ANYTHING..a stable iraq will occur when the americans leave which i think will be within 1-2 years in my view
nobody..including the people who are in government now or the people who welcomed the americans do want the ameicans to stay any longer..too many mistakes:D

Libya did not buy any Mirage 50, & sold all its Mirage 5s to Pakistan in 2004. But Libya does still operate Mirage F1.

I SAW MYSELF DURING THE SEPTEMBER FESTIVAL AIRSHOW (I WAS THERE) 3 MIRAGE 50 IN FORMATION FLIGHT OVER TRIPOLI, i thought they were 5’s at first but told they were 50’s

from a trategic point of view i think america would make a big mistake if it leaves airbases behind in iraq which it does need operationally (f-15 can be over iraq in 20 minutes from the gulf) as for the IRAQI airforce there will be a handover of the remaining operational fighters/fighter-bombers that are left in american hands to the iraqis by the end of this year they are only 12-15 as i heard i will publish the types when i know them, but i know the iraqi government is planning a tender to firms for inspecting them to get them to operational standerd.

I often think that the carrier-based SEPECAT Jaguar M was a missed opportunity, when it was cancelled in favor of the far less capable and obsolete design, the all French Dassault Super Etendard.

I often wonder how the French Navy must have really felt about giving up an opportunity to come into the modern carrier jet aircraft age. To give up supersonic capability, a far better and useful offensive weapons load (almost double that of the Super Etendard), that could be carried to a more useful range! (I think I would have opted for upgraded McDonnell Douglas A-4 Skyhawk’s, rather than Super Etendard’s!)

Could the Jaguar have not replaced both the F-8 Crusader and Super Etendard aboard the French carriers in the fighter-interceptor & strike roles?
If the Jaguar M, had have been put into service, I wonder if the Indian Navy may have used it from its carrier, seeing they are so fond of the Jaguar and its capabilities?
Or could have Argentina and Brazil have been able to replace their Skyhawk’s with it?
Could the ‘Majestic’ Class CVL’s used by India, Argentina and Brazil have handled the likes of the Jaguar M?

Does anyone have pictures and specifications/technical data of the Jaguar M?

    Regards
    Pioneer

the Super Etendart is a very capable aircraft for naval ops.

Lybia already operates Mirage 5 and the new export version mirage 50 so they are pretty much familiar with french fighters:D
