    I’d also try:

Elvington (it would go nicely with their Herald)
Norwich (would go nicely with theirs too – and their F-27)
    East Midlands Aeropark

Dayton example appears to have been privately owned prior to restoration in the ealy ’60s.

What is being proposed here is not dissimilar to the Duxford Blenheim, where a Mk1 nose is being fitted to a Bolingbroke to create a facsimile of an early Blenheim, thus recreating a “lost” type.

The Mk1 Shack idea seems excellent, especiallya s there are several examples of later Shacks in preservation.

The Drover is culturally pretty significant to Australians – it was built specifically for the Flying Doctor service, which is world famous, and something they’re justifiably proud of.

This must push a few buttons with Australians and Australian businesses in the UK? The DH Museum is clearly the right place for it – and surely having it there would attract Australian visitors – it’s the only one in Europe. It could even help raise money for the Flying Doctor Service.

Why not approach the Australian High Commission, Qantas, Fosters Lager etc for some support? Doesn’t seem an earth-shattering amount of money to save a very rare, unique and significant aircraft.

Squires Gate was my home airport too. Many happy memories from the 60s and early 70s – Autair Ambassadors, etc…

Once blagged a freebie round the Tower in a Cherokee 6 – pilot took pity on me I think!

I remember Clive Hodgson well – pretty sure he’s still around. He was called Clive but some people called him Cliff. He always drove particularly dreadful cars – three-wheeler Reliants, rear-engined Skodas etc!
