I was working nights at Phillips in Cambridge many years ago & they were visible from there one night. I hear they were sacrificing virgins out at Fen Ditton when it freaked out the webfooted locals..

Is it a taxiway or access road that is the cause of it? I’m thinking it wasn’t there before the M11.

    Edit:

Just looked at GoogleEarth, that taxiway wasn’t there before the M11. If you use the time thingie you can clearly see the old peri track etc on the 10/03 image

Bouncing off that bump at Dx causes a lot less damage than if the aircraft had bounced off the *other bump* just outside the peri fence…

Hi all, as one of the “team” that worked on P9374 I get really HACKED OFF about the amount of bitching that goes on about “originality” on this forum. If the CAA weren,t happy with these kind of restorations they wouldn,t get done !! You that moan dont seem to appreciate the amount of research & effort that goes into a project like this. And how many of you actually work on Spitfires anyway ? Maybe you bitch because you dont & wish you could !!

    Yours p…ed off.

    Steve

I find saying something along the lines of “well why don’t bloody buy it & then you can make the decisions about how things are done & what colour they get painted etc” usually shuts em up 🙂 I especially like it when the anorak in question is banging on about originality & is a member of the CAF where merely pointing to the tramp stamp they adorn their aircraft with stops the conversation dead 😉

Ten tons of top soil and a morning’s work would sort that out.

lot more than 10 tons needed..

I’ll probably regret for getting involved in this
I agree his joke may not be PC…but look at it another way.
Twenty years ago the UK was at war with Saddam Hussein.

A simple anology would be having a general in 1965 with the name of Hitler.

While it’s not hilarious, it’s not exactly a solid reason to imply Chox is a racist.
    Really.

Exactly, I wonder if there would be half the posts about this if it was Admiral Hitler who was taking part….

and quote of the day goes to Hazel Blears on Sky…

“People need to ask, why are they not at school?”.

Because it’s the summer holidays? Got to admire a politician who keeps up with current events. Finger on the pulse and all that.
