    Has any parts been robbed/borrowed to keep sally B flying?

    Wasn’t an engine pulled off for another B17 during Belle filming?

    Not all etch primers are tanslucent tho, DuPont Vari-Prime (aka Yellow Death)certainly isn’t… & it is kinda ‘mustardy” looking

    Breaking news: IWM have started the AAM aircraft and all other exhibits dusting project. :diablo:

    They’re going to let the dust build up as part of a fund raising program, when it gets deep enough they’re going to plant spuds…

    The price of both printed books and postage has increased rapidly in recent years. …
    Hardback books with a good print run are £20-30

    The average Sunday paper would be over $100 if it wasn’t for advertising…

    & I more or less have to buy a copy of the book as I is innit, innit 🙂

    Was running errands around town on Thursday (possibly Wednesday) & some chap in a C130 was giving a somewhat spirited display/beat up around the patch, at one point I thought he was actually going to roll it when he got a bit enthusiastic with a wing over & he was last seen doing what appeared to be a straffing run across the field. Might have been an AC130 as I thought I saw a large *pipe* sticking out the side.
    Definetly the kind of display that leads to an “interview without tea”, Throttles were given quite a work out, thoroughly enjoyed it 🙂

    I’ll have to try that next time…..I used the ‘bash-out with an old screwdriver while swearing like a trooper’ method myself! 😀

    At the time I was unaware that it had been in seawater which both does and doesn’t explain the state of corrosion / preservation.

    Hell, I couldn’t even tell ya the serial # of most of the aircraft I work on.

    & there’s very few I actually know by serial#:
    XH558, EP120…. er..

    They said that as from the end of January they have had to pay VAT at 20% on aircraft parts and services, which had previously been free of VAT. As someone “in the know” does that make sense?

    Aircraft parts? I thought they were flush with spares?

    Once flew from the UK to LAX on AirNZ, can’t tell you if it was a good or bad flight as they had unlimited (free) Steinlager & Bundaberg rum.

    A heard thhat a medium sized museum in the states who applied for one got a lovely NASA A4 folder full of demands and regulations on what could be done with them and how they were to be stored and they had to fulfill lots of criterior part of which was to be kept inside and within a temperature range.

    Yes, he had some kind of nerve issue. Not entirely sure what the deal was though.
