Not sure how it ties-up with the Ordnance Survey maps that you have posted but here is a Google Maps image of the (surprisingly small) crater…
…there is (or should be) a Wikipedia link in the centre of the crater.
The pic I originaly linked was a photo of the crater. A few minutes later it changed to what you now see… (they’re on to us!)
Thanks 🙂
Talking of RAF Transport aircraft.. There is a Gulfstream at VanNuys that has a RAF Transport Command white/grey/blue stripe paint job on it 🙂
I have the photo here, so what is the problem?
Let them prove me, that the copyrights belong to someone else.
Then I will remove it…..
Until that, I do not see the problem….
What they are saying is that you apparently own ONE copy of the photograph. Other people apparently own other copies of it.
Who has the original negative?
Apollo 8, my favourite Apollo mission, first crew round the back of the Moon and back home again. Who could forget Boorman (I think) reading from Genesis from the Moon on Christmas Eve 1968?
They still fly together…
Bill on the right wing, Frank on the left.
The crew took turns to read from Genesis, apparently-but as we all know, they weren’t really there at all-they were in a converted hangar at Area 51 (I’m joking, I’m joking!!)
I’m a great fan of Buzz Aldrins reaction to being called a liar by some reporter. The footage of him punching the guy out is on youtube :D
Couple of nice happy smiles there – they both look as if they’ve made each others’ day!
It didn’t start off that way. She is at her mothers this week so I called up at 9am & told her mom to get her up as I had a surprise for her. I didn’t tell her mom where she was going at first & there was some talk from the ex about “not forcing her to get up, it’s a holiday blah blah blah”
Then I mentioned who she was going to see today & in the back ground I hear the ex say “Get up, you’re going out with your dad for the day” :diablo:
When we were headed home she told me she’s going to have the coolest story to tell when school starts again on Jan 11th 🙂
It is just possible that the same type of a/c – if performing in UK – might well have impacted Tesco’s in Cambridge.
Resmoroh
Given the loss rate among Lightnings how many actually impacted buildings? I thought most of them were now stationed at RAF DoggerBank?
The UK also has a higher number of WIWOLS than SA to support such an aircraft.. 😉
Since XH558’s 50th Birthday Appeal was launched just over a month ago, we have gratefully received just over £30,000 from just under 1,000 donors, against our target of £400,000 by Christmas.
I guess that’s the end of it then…
Apparently the FAA have now decided which is the *real* one. One party is PO’d, the other is happy…
And thats all I’m saying about it.
Throw an F-82. (and yes, it had Allisons – not Merlins)
Oil cooler door actuators are done & have been sent off to the owner, coolant door actuators will be done shortly.
£15 (ish) entrance fee, X 100 guests, plus wedding feast in the cafeteria; probably cheaper to buy one!
For some reason I thought they had some deal with the old Officers Mess being rented out for functions… or am I thinking of some other station/base?
Probably easier & cheaper to take the wedding to the Spitfire instead of a Spitfire to the wedding….
That’s assuming you could do the wedding at Dx or similar..
Mr Hiltons Staggerwing departing VNY for points North after we finished up the Annual this morning 🙂
lmao! really? what was he doing?
(sorry for the thread hijack :diablo: )
There’s a thread on here someplace about his antics…
