I’d give the entire casting a work over with glassbead blasting & just hit the corroded parts of the gear doors with the same. 🙂
Steel or Aluminium? I guessing Al?
& is it painted/plated/anodized/bare?
Last year at this time there were numerous complaints about the Chabberwocky. Either TFC choose to ignore them, or they don’t read the threads about their own airshow..
Not really, if you knew the situation behind the TFC decision you’d understand. In fact you’d probably be quite shocked.
.
Indeed 😉
For me the show lacked drama and has done since the twin engines fighters disappeared, the Mosquito to that dreadful crash and the Tigercat to the US.
Here ya go then, this was taken on Friday 😉

Just clicked the link to the pics in that thread & found a LOAD of my relatives..
Looking thru the houseboat pics there are several former MTB’s, I remember those when I was a kid.

At a warbird show like Legends, after a brief introduction to a display, the participants should be allowed to fly ‘the routine’ without commentary, so we can hear the amazing sounds of these historic aircraft…but then I’m biased as I’m also trying to record them.
& just put the pertinent info about the aircraft in the program..
The organisers need to review the endless jabber (or is it chabber) ….
New word enters the lingo
def: Not just jabbering, but mindless, assinine jabbering with a funny accent:D
It was improved also on the occasions when the tannoy (repeatedly) broke down and we got a moments peace from the tediously incessant witterings of Bernard Chabbert. It was quite amusing that people cheered when it broke, and jeered when it came back.
Repeatedly? So did the proles make good on their offers to use dikes to silence his wittering?
I guess the Campaign to Abolish Aviation have at least given the TFC crew time to catch up (if needed) on any maint issues:)
The TFC collection was all hearded together inside, would have been nice to have them at least out in the open etc, but then again when I run my own historic aircraft collection……
So why are they all out of PtF in the middle of display season? Has Pleming started working for TFC?
Yup, Pleming needs to go.
Chuck Thorntons F5 went crackling out of VNY this morning, twice.
Is it the same carb as a Spit Merlin etc? Fuel feed valve on the fritz?
recovering in irish linen.
Why???? I thought it was a flyer?
NickB, I think you may be disappointed again this FL weekend with the reenactors getting in shot.
A long stick with a nail in may help?
I say we add a bit more realism & shoot the ******s.:D:cool:
