I guess Slattery has decided that we’ve all forgotten that his collection was funded by tax payers & peoples pension funds & it’s time to display them again.
That seems to be a common issue. Once saw some ancient Corsair pilot clamber up the wing & jump into the cockpit like a teenager. Then there was an “oh ******” moment when it came time to get out of it.
I worked for an outfit where flights were available in a T38 for about $10k. I don’t recall anyone taking them up on the offer, altho to be fair it wasn’t advertised. Choice was hooning about the desert or a supersonic blast down the coast.
Princess Liz had a stick, pedals & a throttle for the back seat, not sure if it still does?.. also happens to be the first (only?) P51 that Ed Schmued got a ride in.
