Many years ago an aquaintance of mine used to run the York diesel in his Ford Tranny on fuel that was intended for Tornados… 😉

I asked whether these were, in fact, the offspring of pikeys. He said no, those are minididikies. Can someone enlighten me?

    Genuine LOL moment LMFAO!!

they built them there a hatchins tan
with concrete base and barbed wire surround
no more were they a free race lore
with open Sky’s and heather floor

now they partook the gorja ways
so its kushti bok and taxing days
no more the traditions of the gypsy clan
for now they twer part of the master plan

    the 1994 act was introduced
to rob them of their rights and truce
each one imprisoned like a criminal for their nomadic ways
like a fortress camp in a Freeman’s grave

the traditional skills were just old hat
their weaving baskets and ladies hats
no more the land to plant n sow
with ponies braided for to show

still the dreams live on in Romany
like the life of the poor old didikie
where wagons rolled and stories told
in the past down gypsy roads

This Egret was on the ramp 2 days ago:

Oddly enough parked in the exact same spot as the Lockheed *DragonStar* was a couple of days earlier.
Egret has been under going repairs after the nosegear collapse last year which resulted in composite propellor parts spread over a few acres… Luckily there is another Egret at VNY so they were able to use that bird to take moulds off to replace the fuselage parts that got mullared. I have a pic of it sitting in the weeds next to the runway on it’s nose someplace as I was driving next to the taxiway when they pranged it.

& yes, that is a DAS decal in the top right corner of my windscreen 🙂

That hangar is 90,000sqft (not including the workshopshop/office space on the sides. theres 2 of them:

304 Stainless would be the material of choice for headers mild steel will work but not be as durable and prone to cracking if not fabricated well…………..

Yup, altho may make some mild steel versions for non flyers.. 😎

I know that this company has experience of fabricating exhaust stubs – check under Spitfire and Lancaster projects! 🙂

I wasn’t planning on paying someone else to do it…..;)

I suspect they realised after a while that mild steel rotted out, so switched to Inconel….

    but I may be wrong!

Possible, or maybe a shortage of Inconel?

Inconel – cos that what they were made of!
    😉

    Bruce

I’ve seen some completely rotted out/rusted ones, so there may have been some mild steel ones at some point.

Must have been the same bunch of Yanks that buried hundreds (depending on who you talk to…) of WLA Harley Davidsons, crated and corrosion-inhibited, under Broadford football oval in Victoria, Australia!!!

There were a bunch of WLA’s recovered in Devon back in the early ’80’s. I worked on 5 of them. :p
& if I’d been a bit quicker I’d have been the guy digging em up.. 🙁

Beat me too it! Inconel is a trade name NOT a specific alloy, bit like saying stainless without reference to type……………..

    There’s always AMS 5544 Waspalloy…;)

Anywho, I can sort out what particular alloy once I get the die’s for bending shapes etc.. 🙂
