Gilmour contributed to transform the Pink Floyd into the perfect balance between conventional and experimental features. His guitar on “Shine on You Crazy Diamond” turned this song one of the most beautiful ones of all times, simply TIMELESS

Just wondering. Since the São Paulo is under going upgrades that should be concluded this year, returning it to a combat ready vessel, should the Brazilians be looking to improve its airwing.

We all know that the Boeing is very keen on selling the Brazilian airforce the F-18, but should the Brazilians be looking to purchase some additional units to add to the Sao Paulos compliment?

What are peoples thoughts on this?

Well, official releases to press tell the following:

1- All the A-4KU’s will be updated by EMBRAER until 2013

2- Three Grumman Trackers will be purchased to serve as AEW platforms I am from Brazil ;););)

About half the book is devoted to the Tu-128 & Tu-128UT ‘Pelican’.

Total of 41 pages – plus 4 pages of colour photos (3 from Savasleika PVO museum, 1 at Monino).

Plus 2 pages with 6-view drawings & 2 pages of side-views showing different variants.

The rest of the book covers the La-250, MiG- I-3, I-7, I-75, Ye-150/151/152, Sukhoi T-37 & P-37.

Why don’t you just buy the book?
You can pick up a copy for about 25 bucks.
HERE’S the link;)

My interest in that book is due to “Fiddler” only. For this I wanted to know how many pages directly related to it there are in the book. Thanks for the link

what do you need to know mate? they were contra rotating, made I believe by Dowty. I have in the museum at Lossiemouth some copies of pilots notes so will look them up over the w.e. and get back. If you could specify what exactly you require it would help.

Thanks for the attention you paid, Toni:) I would like to know just two things about the Gannet’s propellers: their manufacturer/model and diameter. Thank you again!;)

Ok guys, sitting down to write you both an email/pm, but for other people interested in the SwAF this is a good reference to start. http://www.kkrva.se/ It’s the Royal Swedish Academy of War Science in Stockholm and is with whom I conduct research. Look under Tidskriften for monthly articles, many of them in English.

For other English resources concerning the SwAF I recommend a RAND report by Richard Bitzinger called Facing the Future, it is a bit dated but has some decent stuff. Also the aforementioned proceedings from the 1996 Linkoping conference is good. Also of use might be Robert Dorr’s book on the Viggen, has a decent history of the SwAF and some tactical info.

There is quite a bit in Swedish and I will elaborate more in my private messages.

Hello, my friend! Well, I saw the kkrva website, but unless I am wrong the articles requires a payment to be downloaded; So, I have tried to download the Robert Dorr’s book, unsuccesfully:( The only thing I got was the “Facing the Future”, a good view about the Swedish air defense and early warning doctrine, prior to the AEW era. I am anxious about the things you are preparing;);)

Thanks for reply my requests…Since my work is focused on the AEW&C platforms, it would be enough those informations directly related to this kind of platform inside that Air Force, such the former Metro and the Saab S.100 Argus. Any kind of data concerning them (technical/mission payloads including, as well as their deployment doctrines ) it would be especially welcome…

Thanks again!;)

Hello Entropy!

Can you send to me all things you have about the Swedish Air Force? I do not read/speak Swedish, but I would like to obtain that stuff directly related to the AEW&C deployment in the “Kongeliket Svenska Flygvapnet”, since I am writing a book on the ALL AEW&C ever deployed (or those platforms which are to be) around the world. So, as soon as possible, I would like you could send the above mentioned material through a link in this website or through the following emails: tochkaopori@yahoo.com.br and srscerqueira@gmail.com. I have some published articles, one of them can be seen at:http://www.laahs.com/artman/publish/article_220.shtml. If you wish I will very pleased to include your name in the book credits, ok?;)

Thank you since now!

Hello, I’m just wondering if I can get some help finding some books. If anybody can give me the title, author, & the isbn number for any books on the french air force & sweden’s air force, it would be greatly appreciated. I’m interested in about the Rafale & Mirage in service with the french air force & the JAS 39 Gripen in the sweden’s air force. If anybody knows of any good books on the dassault rafale & the saab gripen that would be very helpful also. Thanks for everybody’s help.

For a little start: http://www.farposst.ru/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=7985&highlight=saab+gripen 😉

Dear friend Ken, I have three questions to you, all of them from Russian AWACS book by Yefim Gordon: can you provide me such a list of the avionics aboard the A-50? What the civil registrations bored by Iraqi AWACS (Adnan, etc…) and, finally is there some Ka-31 in service with Russian Navy? If so what its unit?
Thanks in advance!

I have just sent, by mistake, a duplicated (with the exactly same content) private message to you…It is not a spam/virus. Please, may consider only one of them, ok?;)

>I would like to know from which pages and Jane’s edition the information above was taken…

It came from the ‘Beriev A-50 series’ entry in the current edition of Jane’s Electronic Mission Aircraft, which is edited by Martin Streetly.

>…as well as your real name (if you wish) in order to give you full credits to your colaboration.

No credit needed. You needed the info, and I had the relevant yearbook straining one of the bookshelves in my office.

Best regards,

Mercurius, you are the perfect example of that very rare kind of people who likes to really help…;););););)
