RE: All time favourite Movie???
Hi Dazza,
Nope, you didn’t mix them up, Day of the Dead was the one set in the army base. It’s just I’ve always thought that Dawn of the Dead (set in the shopping mall) was the better movie. Helicopter blades CAN be dangerous 😉
What did you think of Return of the Living Dead? Love the scene with the comment “Open the door, I’ll knock his freakin’ block off” 😀
Cheers,
James
RE: F1 Grand Prix
Well said A.T.
Especially about the Aussie V8 and Fords 😉

RE: Favourite War Movies / themes
Righto, I just can’t recall the Dambusters theme, I’ll have to dig the movie out 😉
Cheers
RE: Favourite War Movies / themes
DamBusters theme? you’re not thinking of the theme to 633 Squadron by any chance?
Cheers,
James
RE: All time favourite Movie???
Dazza, you preferred ‘Day’ as opposed to ‘Dawn of the Dead’???
My favourite would be a tie between ‘Star Wars’ and ‘Jaws’, both of which had an effect to me when they originally came out.
Others I rate highly include:
The Fifth Element
The Thing (original & remake)
Tremors
Deep Blue Sea
Lock, Stock, and two Smoking Barrels
Snatch
The Mummy & The Mummy Returns
Alien & Aliens
Sahara (Bogart, of course)
The Maltese Falcon
Across the Pacific
Fort Apache
Captain Blood
The Sea Hawks
Cheers,
James
Captain Horatio Hornblower
RE: we have enough laws here….
But then “anything deadly” can encompass quite a diverse selection of items, cars (of course) spring readily to mind.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 26-04-02 AT 02:52Â AM (GMT)]Garry, I think you’ll find that the Aromoana tragedy came before the current gun laws where individuals now have to go through screening and police physically checking the safe storage of weapons (both of which I agree with).
As with US gun laws, I really don’t see the need to own such weapons as hand guns and assault rifles? neither of which are useful for legitimate hunting, though I know some people seem to feel the need to hunt with handguns (which I consider ridiculous and greatly risking the possibility of wounded game suffering).
Hand guns, and assault weapons, have a “macho” image that greatly increases their “attractiveness” to the less stable, less law abiding elements in a society, while at the same time offering enormous firepower.
As for the arguement that the Constitution guarantees the “right to keep and bear arms”, okay stick to the letter of the document and only allow the weapons that the writers were thinking of at the time, single shot flintlocks. 😉
Cheers,
James
