Someone was after an oil temp gauge on the project wants thread
Picture 2 are V band clamps by the look of them, used on may post war aircraft, notably Jaguars, Tornados and Hercs amongst many others
The oil temp gauge was certainly used on the Stirling and probably most other wartime british aircraft

Hi Cees
Will definitely pop over to see you.
As David points out, seeing the extrusion laid out on the floor certainly brings home the size of the aircraft. the longer length pieces are pretty much the length of the bomb bay from Frame 5……to the transport joint at Frame 26:eek: It’s another 15 feet or so from there to the rear of the bomb bay not forgetting the length of the fuselage forward of Frame 5. What have we let ourselves in for?????
John
Hi all
Some more progress to report:
Thanks to SAPA Profiles UK, who kindly donated the time and materials, we now have sufficient lengths of special extrusion for the outer bomb bay keel structure. These are aysmmetrical ‘U’ section channel which attaches to the bottom of the bomb frames and which the outer bomb doors are attached. These are an integral part of the bomb bay structure without which we cannot proceed to the build stage.
Hi James
If you can wait until after the weekend, I can get the measurements for you 🙂
John
Always been in the port airbrake bay 🙂
Halton perhaps?
Awesome work there Al
Great to see the flaps and slats working as well as Diff Tail
John
Hi Moggy,
Unfortunately no, I only found out about thisb today and after the dedication took place. At least the memorial itself looks like a Stirling

A quick update on the memorial dedication
John
Hi Walter
My first thought is that it’s part of the trim control, as you say AP1660 doesn’t give out much in the way of info. A pity that there’s no other identifying marks as I’ve now collated nearly 6000 part nos and descriptions from various sources and unfortunately there’s no comprehensive Vol 3 to help us out. If it needs a good home, I can think of one 😀

John
is there a 6A/*** reference number anywhere on it?
Short stirling Flt Engineer position? ???
Don’t think so Peter, IIRC the F/E Control Wheels drove Teleflex controls
