Enjoyed it or the social as much as anything else. And thanks for the oxy valves Alan, they’ll fill some very prominent positions:cool:

    Well done Howard et al:D

    Hi Alan

Funnily enough I was wondering today how your search was going. If Chipmunk counts as less exotic then I’ll be along on Saturday:diablo:

Some more progress on the throttle box and we’re now pretty much back to where we were a month or so ago:rolleyes:

The side skins have been formed and reinforcing angles rivetted in place. Importantly the box is now fully square and sits true which is something the ‘old’ one didn’t do, it’s also now drilled and pinned into the correct position on the flight deck whereas the old one was only ever slaved into position.

Plenty of work to do on the innards now but with any luck this should progress quite quickly as the original levers are pretty serviceable and mostly just need a clean up

Afraid not Rob, most likely it was taken from a scrap seat as it could be made use of but languished in a drawer somewhere

    A quick update…

We were recently contacted by the son of a lady who had worked on Stirlings in the war. He offered to donate part of a seat cushion that was allegedly part of the Pilots seat, initially we were a bit dubious but on receipt it looks to be the real deal. It’s only the front facing leather part of the backrest but a nice find nonetheless 😎

    Hi Ian

As promised here’s the crew photo. I’ve been warned by our Chairman that this may not include all those who were onboard N6022 when she crashed.

Hi Ian and welcome to the Forum.

As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I believe that we may have a crew photo so once we’ve dug it out I’m sure we can let you have a copy.

You can contact me on email or PM via this forum 🙂

    regards

    John
