By the way, it is now registered as N473DC.
Photo of XV863 at Weston here:
I have no idea – I don’t know if it even has engines installed.
XV863 was seen today at Weston Aerodrome, near Dublin. I will try to pay a visit in the next few days to check it out.
Aer Lingus say that they will operate all flights as normal with the exception of those already mentioned. A lot of pax must have made alternative plans, as Aer Lingus have quite low fares available on several routes if you are able to travel on 21 or 22 August.
Heres a picture of the 1-11 graveyard taken at Southend in the mid 1990s. I cant be shure exactly when as all my records were lost in a house fire. I think the two dan air 1-11s are 500 series. Im not too sure about the third, maybe British Eagle? I have plenty more of the scrapyard if you would like too see them, as security wasnt too tight at Southend then.

The furthest away one looks like it’s in Florida West colours. British Eagle was gone a long time before the 1990s….
And here’s another one, though I can’t trace the date right now.
Also, with the silver B-17G, it would have to be 1944 or later, I think.
The 707 at Manston is N707QJ, ex A20-261 of the RAAF. See here for more details:

Mate the Air Transat glided 21,500ft in 77nm (or 88.5 statute miles) to end up at 13,000ft 8nm from the runway threshold. This is a glide ratio of about 1:21 which is excellent.

Well, it was flying with empty fuel tanks at that stage, wasn’t it!
The Spitfire XIX is PS890/F-AZJS, fitted with a Shackleton engine and prop assembly, I believe.
I would echo WL747’s comments about the Nikon Coolscan. It has a good dust-removal feature which is invaluable for slides other than Kodachrome – you’d be amazed at how much dust can accumulate even on well-kept slides. At least some post-processing to level/crop/improve colours and sharpen is usually necessary and can be somewhat time-consuming, especially until you get the hang of it. Here are a couple from Fujichrome 100 ASA which turned out well after a bit of post-processing work.
Awesome images mate love the BA Tristar rotation shot.
Agreed they are lovely shots but I’d say the L-1011 is landing, judging by the flap setting.
I always thought F2’s were round tails? I think you are right about the doors as it might be they were removed for repair?
The F.2s had the small fin originally but the conversion to F.2A included installation of the large fin as well as the big belly fuel tank and extended wing leading edges, so that apart from retention of the nose guns these were quite similar to the Lightning F.6.
