    The aircraft of the 1st sqn next to standard equipment of the 9.12A variant include Navigation system Collins ANV-241MMR VOR/ILS and AN/ARN-153 TCN500 TACAN, a civilian GPS Trimble 2101AP, RWR system Thompson-CSF SB-14, Polsih IFF system Radwar SC-10 Suprasl and digital control R-862 for VHF/UHF radio Unimor-Radiocom RS6113-2. Besides that, the aircraft feature anti-collision lights and a new NATO-type camouflage. The GPS nav system, TACAN and VOR/ILS have been integrated with the on-board navigation system via TGR-29A interface.

    totalled production 505 aircrafts,more than 300of which remained on strength with Russian AF at the turn of the century,many of these aircraft have been mothballed due to reorganisations in the Russian air arms(the merger of the formerly PVO and VVS)which saw many units disbanded-more often than not to cut costs.
