    The camouflage of these F-18 came from the agressors squadrons of the U.S. Navy / USMC. There was also some issue with a camouflage of different shades of blue in the style of Flankers.

    Incident occurred while he was refueling, and the Hornet before a sudden gust of wind broke the tanker too.

    Roberto, thank you for your excellent set of pictures of a very impressive museum. I have a couple of questions for you. I assume the Miles Hawk is painted in a different scheme on each side. What is the significance of these colour schemes? What is the type of engine in the Buchon that doesn’t have the Merlin? I assume it isn’t a Daimler-Benz. Thanks in advance.

    The miles Hawk major has 2 paints, one side has the colors of the republican army and the other those who flew with the national army, then served on both sides during our civil war

    About the Buchon
    * HA-1109-J1L – 1945 – the initial 25 Bf109 G-2 aircraft, from German production, with Hispano-Suiza 12Z-89 engines fitted, in lieu of Daimler-Benz DB 605A’s, using VDM or Escher-Wyss propellers. Not used operationally. 25 built.
    * HA-1109-K1L – 1951 – first production of HA-1112-K1L. Fitted with a Hispano-Suiza 12Z-17 engine and de Havilland Hydromatic propeller in an improved installation, this version appeared in May 1951 armed with two Hispano HS-404 20mm cannon and 80mm rockets. 25 conversions from a HA-1109-J1L.
    * HA-1112-K1L “Tripala” – 1951 – used operationally. 65 built (25 conversions from a HA-1109-K1L).
    * HA-1109-M1L- prototype of HA-1112-M1L. A single aircraft modified with a Rolls-Royce Merlin 500-45 engine. One conversion from a HA-1112-K1L.
    * HA-1110-K1L – Hispano powered two-seat trainer version. Used operationally. One built.
    * HA-1110-M1L – RR Merlin powered two-seat trainer version. Project only
    * HA-1111-K1L – Hispano powered two-seat trainer version with wingtip mounted fuel tanks. Project only.
    * HA-1112-M1L “Buchon” – 1954 – the final variant fitted with a RR Merlin engine and armed with two Hispano HS-404 20mm cannon and 80mm rockets. Used operationally. 172 built.
    * HA-1112-M4L – Merlin engined two-seat trainer. Used operationally. One built and one conversion from a HA-1110-K1L.

    Thanks again for the update and a great virtual visit.
    This thread has turned into a full museum catalog 🙂

    Thanks!!

    That was the idea, create a catalog of photographs, because this museum has an uncertain future, and do not really know how it will end, as the current museum will be demolished to build new homes and is expected to be moved, but in Spain, go you know what will happen!.

    He is saying that without the AIM-9L that the Sea Harriers would not have been good enough.

    Before the Falklands War the Sea Harrier carried the AIM-9G which wasn’t quite as good as the AIM-9L but to what extent that would have influenced the outcome of the war is uncertain. The AIM-9L had an ‘all-aspect’ ability (could be fired at an aircraft from any angle, even head-on) that the AIM-9G lacked and, I think, slightly better range, and possibly reliability but almost all (if not all) AIM-9L fired during the war were fired from close-range and from the rear, conditions that the AIM-9G would have coped with almost as well.

    I think exactly the same. Aim-9G would be a perfect job too.

    This is an interesting photo, shows the evolution of aeronautics.

    In the background you can see the SNECMA Atar 9K50 engine and in the foreground the EJ-200

    I am pleased that you are willing to show us your pics of what appears to be a very good collection and I feel sure I am not alone in enjoying seeing them. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

    Another great series I enjoy while we all wait for the air show season to start.
    Thanks for sharing.
    I can’t imagine the budgets and the work involved in maintaining such a large collection.

    Thank you very much for your words of support …

    I promise more photos soon …
