Dassault and EADS are int he running to supply Switzerland 54 new fighters.
The four bids expected to be deposited with the Swiss Defense Ministry are from Dassault with the Rafale, EADS with the Eurofighter, Saab with the Gripen and Boeing with one of its aircraft, although it doesn’t specify which model. I expect it might be the Super Hornet.
The deal is worth about three billion dollars and will be for 54 airframes. No idea when a winning bid will be announced. Cheers!

However, I asked a few months ago at Flugzeugforum.de, and a member wrote back that the German Armed Forces have canceled the purchase of the ARMIGER.
So the program status is back to the shelves.

This video show the F-16 and F-15 killing Syrian fighter in 1982
Interesting, around 20 second, the film shows an AIM-9 in a F-15… But it seems an AIM-9D or G or H, not AIM-9L…
It´s interesting the weapons of the MiG-23…

Actually, this picture shows an F-5 landing on the runway of the Meiringen airbase, not a road.
Swiss bases are quite unique because some of them are crossed by civilian roads. This is the case at meiringen or Paryerne for exemple : When there is no flight operation, you can cross the runway with your car (but you can’t stop or park off course 😀 ) and when jets are about to take off or land, they just low a gate as you can see on the picture.
Ok, I know that you can croos a runway with your own car in swiss airbases… but for the same reason, the F-5 cross a road when it´s landing…
So, at least there is a little bit of the f-5 that it´s using the road like a runway:D 😀 :diablo:
