RE: TNT’s first TU 204-120C
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-06-02 AT 09:55 PM (GMT)]I think it looks cool. It certainly looks like a 757. But then I always liked the 757/767 range of aircraft
RE: SAA
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 20-06-02 AT 09:55 PM (GMT)]Wonder if SAA have agreed on the new colour scheme yet and if they have if they will put it on their new A346?
RE: Your worst flight……
It has to be the return flight from Jobug to Paris. It was with Air France on a A340. The cabin crew were rubbish. Hardley spoke any English. The seat belt light was hardley ever off as the plane was getting thrown about the place for most of the night. Worst turbulance I have ever experienced.
RE: Airbus A340-600
I have flown with Sabena 747-300, Airfrance A340-300, KLM 747-400, BA 747-400 and SAA 747-300 and they all use the full lenght of the runway on take off at Joburg. They all seem to take ages to get in the air from there.. Mind you the airport has been upgraded very well although still not finished.
RE: What’s your favourite Tri-jet?
Mines would have to be the MD11 just for sheer looks as I have never flown on one. I have flown on the Sabena DC10 but not the MD11. So before long I want to fly on one.
RE: South African Airways
I know they looked quite cool with the winglets. I thought they were just replacing the long haul fleet all the 747s. But I guess Airbus must be giving them a great deal and I know what ever way they went it would have to last them about 15years. Wonder if the new aircraft will have the new colour scheme.
RE: South African Airways
Thats a pity. Personally I prefer the 777 more room on board. Any idea when they are taking delivery of their first one. Looks like the end of Boeing then in SAA.
RE: New airplanes for KLM
Although British and Airbus having British parts I would rather they went for Boeing. Far better aircraft than airbus and far better layout inside
RE: KLM
I rate KLM very highly. The choice of movies was good. Staff very helpful. I mean I had ny daughter(infant) with me and we were sat at the window me , my wife and some one else. After take off the flight attendant asked the person next to us if she would like to move else where so we had more room. Plus my daughter got food and all that stuff something she has not paid for and something Air France never did. At the time we booked ther was only £15 of a difference between the KLM & Air France fare. £15 well spent on my behalf. So yep KLM rates the best I have flown with to date.
RE: South African Airways
Sorry 747Sp is also going to be getting replaced. This is due to the high running & maintenanc costs.
RE: KLM
I know tell me about it. came back to the Uk with loads of stuff and still had change. Never stayed in that hotel although we were going to on our last night but ended up staying at the wifes folks. Mind you when you are at Boksburg indoor market you see the aircraft on their final approach as its about 2 mile from the end of the runway. Great views.
RE: KLM
When I was at JHB International there was a 747-400 and an A340. I think they are supposed to be getting rid of the 747-200. As for Airfrance it was just my personal opinion and i didnt mean to upset anyone. They fly the A340 to JHB and it seems to take forever to get in the air from there.
RE: KLM
nothing wrong with Virgin never flown with them but they always seem to be the most expensive Airline flying to Jo-burg. Although my sister and mothernlaw flew with them and said they were top notch. Maybe next time I will spend that little bit extra and fly with them.
RE: KLM
Where do you want me to start with Air France. Could be here all night. Yes they are cheaper but their service is as cheap as their fares. I have flown with South African and I thought they were good. All modern aircraft and I beleive they are looking at replacing their 747 fleet with either the 777 or A340 aircraft. Their colour scheme is changing this year as well. The tail will stay the same but the all white aircraft will have blue it. Anyway getting of the track here a bit. KLM gets my vote over the rest of the airlines I have flown BA, Air France, South African, Sabena to South Africa.
Cheers
