    Fast forward to 7:27

Or maybe it’s just a rumour.

    Brilliant!

So it sounds like Anna had a bad day. Hey, it happens to everyone once in a while. Learn from it and move on. I shall look forward to seeing both of these lovely ladies in the air again, hopefully together.

There is of course an interesting parallel to all of this and that is the Comet ‘Black Magic’. Much smaller in all respects, but what a fantastic project it is and a testament to the skill and tenacity of all involved.
Playing devils advocate, if you take the Comet as having 200hp engines, and the Mosquito as having nearer 2000hp engines, then for arguments sake you could say the Mossie will take 10 times the effort the Comet has! Ouch!
However you look at it, this project, if it materializes, will be huge in terms of both cost and physical effort. Can’t see it myself.

Very well put Snoop. After what acss nearly did to the collection financially they should be duty bound to fly her. Anybody know where she might operate from?

I’m all for flying it. I wonder how much original material is in SS compared to Black Magic? Anyway I am really looking forward to the day when we can see both of them at OW together. That will be a sight ( and sound ) to die for.

It will be interesting to see if George Ellis will come out of retirement to pilot acss, or maybe ‘Dodge’ Bailey will have to get another note from his mum:diablo:

We went to the first ‘meet the pilots’, but sadly could not make this one. It was quite one of the best displays that I have ever seen. The lack of visitors is a puzzle, because they are missing a display like no other. Part of me hopes that too many people don’t discover it though, as it would spoil that intimate atmosphere.

Ignore the last bit, just me being selfish!

Canadair’s explanation is the most plausible I have come across and seems to me to make perfect sense. How the ntsb find what caused the tab to fail from that small pile of bits I do not know.
