I think all these countries owe the US for saving their asses during the Cold War Period.

… not sure that deserves a intelligent reply.

The Engish were in Malaya to prop up their sagging empire, Imperialists in the true sense of the word…exploiting indigenous people sto make white men rich in London.

As far as success goes…how many post of the Empire does London have?
Seems to me thery were kicked out of most places….U.S., India, etc, etc.

during the malayan emergency [a COIN conflict against communist geurilla’s] an independant malayan state emerged

Australia and New Zealand contributed to this despite being independent states

When LM realised this they pushed the supercruise “goal posts” futher along the Mach – claiming you had to be able to do this at Mach 1.5+ to be considered a supercruiser.

great game of make up the rules to something you have little experience with to be honest, although i would say that above 1.2mach (ish, varing with different airframes so long as the aircraft can comfortably maintain at a speed where all of the airflow over the airframe is supersonic(IE: past the transonic region entirely) on dry thrust then it is capable of supercruise) LM’s problem with this is that Typhoon can do this!!! (and at 1.5mach clean IIRC), no doubt if EJ230 or 270 make production the boundaries will change again.

hmm, something is obviously not going as planned so the finger pointing must begin.. “who’s more likely to take it without causing too much of a fuss?”, “Blame the Brits, why change the habbit of a lifetime?”

wonder if Darth Vader will attack the criticisms again?

Concorde did not need to use afterburner to break Mach 1. Had that been necessary, how could it have supercruised at Mach 2?

From what I have read, it was more fuel efficient to use afterburner to break through Mach 1 and this practice was adopted.

i was under the impression that concorde used A/B to avoid shockstall never worked on concorde myself, just remember being told it had to use A/B to break M1 and assumed the above.
