Are we confusing scales here. The 1/48 scale Lanc by Tamiya has motors but I wasn’t aware the 1/72nd scale one did?
Does anyone know the model maker?
I would be interested to know what motors were used for the engines (most likely pager vibration motors) or how they were operated. Must be some kind of pot controlling the speed?
Thanks.
Ooh, sorry, wrong forum. Should be in general.

I just watched the film on IPlayer and I totally enjoyed it.
They gave a new generation an interest not only in our own aviation history but gave them an interest in model building, and team work. Not to mention meeting some Spitfire pilots.
I’m 42 and I still build Airfix models. They are cheap, fun and still outshine some of the more modern competition. I’m building a 1:72 Stirling which no one else has attempted and you get bomb trolleys and a tractor!.
I think we as adults are to blame for the demise of model building. I bought my sisters kid a model Vulcan several years ago. They sighed at the fact it would never get built. Now he’s building ships, tanks allsorts. All the computers, phones etc are great but if you don’t involve kids in board games, model kits and all the other interactive pastimes you robbing them of a lot of fun.
Great prgramme.
Was the recovery of aircraft or pilot documented in some way or was the wreck just dragged up and picked over for bits? It’s a shame after realising that the pilot was still onboard they didn’t change from a wreck recovery to a historical recovery and record all the history. There would have been a lot of information about the combat, final crash and loss of the pilot which could have been saved. Then a proper online memorial or museum exhibit could have been created about the man excluding all the graphic pictures (I’m not squeemish but the images did scare, shock me a bit. But then I did look).
I think the body should be treated with more respect and recovered correctly with all the artifacts recorded and handed over to the Authorities.
Not rearly a frog man myself although I’ve got a Whitley still to buil.
Prefer the old Airfix Artwork.

Pieces: 617
With that number of pieces it would be fitting to model Guy Gibsons Mossie.
I can always remember as a kid writing to Airfix about missing or broken parts (some of which I lost or broke myself 🙂 ) and they always sent me the parts without charge.
Airfix are bringing out new mould kits this year including a Dambuster Lanc with Dam.
I thought sky marshalls and people carrying guns on airliners used special frangible rounds to stop them damaging the aircraft?
