Thanks for the photo, Mike.
Are the cowlings off as part of ‘441’s annual? That must be due around now.
Laurence
Yes it is annual time, just putting her back together. Hope all is well with you and your family.

Looks like you guys have done another great job, nice to see 2 seafires flying. Here is what ours looks like at this minute.
Mike
The asi in our seafire vp441 is almost identical, 50 to 490 knots.

Albert,
She certainly isn’t being bleached by the sun, and is receiving lashings of TLC, I can vouch for that.
Thanks Laurence, I try my best

I thought I recognized that bird. Mark 12 check your email

Thanks for the pics, some of those you posted are pics we don’t have. I will try to take some more today as I have to move her to get at the mustang for its inspection. Maybe I will drag her outside if this snow goes by afternoon. It is not quite spring yet, even though the calendar says it is. The inspection is due in May on the seafire, got to get it done before or after Laurence is here.
regards Mike
Here she is waiting for spring

garmin 430
Steve
I dont know if you have a 430 in any of your other airplanes, but it is a great unit. We have 430’s in the bonanza, baron, and the seafire. With a 530 in the cheyenne 400LS. Great for situational awarness, plus there are all kinds of things that adapt to them.
Great looking panel!!!!!!!

Yes it did, he didn’t care for the checkerboard on the nose. Otherwise it is the same paint since Duane Williams restored it in about 1987 I think. It was my first warbird ride in about 1988 for my 32nd bithday, I had a grin on my face for about a month.

Mike I also love what you have done with your aircraft- they are in beautiful condition and your facility is the dream of any person even remotely interested in aircraft. I loved your P40 when it was with Col Pay but I also love it now. The color scheme is your business – the point is you look after it and it is a fantastic machine. I enjoyed your post – thanks for the pictures – I really appreciated them I had not seen any of her after she left Col’s. For what it’s worth I think the Seafire is one of the greatest restorations of the past decade.

Thanks for that John, you miight have seen our A-37 as it came from Cole also in 1996, it is a kick in the pants to ride in. It is also one of Jims favorites. He calls it his 6ooo hp bonanza.

Hard to please everyone
There is no way you can please everyone. A few months ago I posted a couple of pictures of the seafire lined up with a few of our other warbirds and most of the posts did nothing but pick the other aircraft apart because they werent what they wanted to see [clear coat on the P-51 and corsair, the eye was wrong on the P-40]. I thought I would get a better response than that. I try to keep these birds looking as good as I can for vistors who come. It is kind of discouraging when you get responses like that, but you cant please everyone I have come to learn.

If the shoe was on the other foot
Hey guys and gals
I lurk on this forum from time to time and have been watching this thread and the arguing going on.
What if my boss would have painted VP441 in the camo scheme that he had planned? I bet there would have been some mud slinging against him. If it werent for Mark 12 and Laurence Bean, thats what color it would be.
I wasnt sure if I liked the original colors until it got here, and neither did he.
What ever colors 25Y is painted is the owners choice, just as long as it is restored is all I care. Just my opinion…..
