I had to Google that, and all I can say is… blimey! A Short Empire for the space age. I fold.
Thought you might. Unless anyone can beat this monster of an aircraft it looks like I’ve won.

sarcasm is the lowest form of wit
HA HA HA. I suppose you think that’s funny.
Re-Raise
No problem. Though I think I would have to see your Short Shetland, and raise you a Saro Princess.
You can keep your bizjets – I’m travelling in style! 😀
I see your Saro Princess, Raise you the Saunders-Roe p.192!!!!! Now money really would be an object!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks and no thanks
Oh dear. Ewan Hoozarmy, I don’t think that my local NHS Trust will pay for the tablets (I do hope satire is allowed here). On the plus side, thanks for telling me what it is, but the downside is I can’t spend the rest of the day gloating to my friends that I’ve seen a Spitfire.
Spitfire Query
Are there any spitfires on the British Civil Aviation register with non standard colour schemes, in particular is there one with checked underwings, as I saw this morning over Bucks an elliptical wing aircraft with what appeared to be a checked underwing pattern moving rather quickly. And if its not a spitfire, what is it?
Beech 18 mistake in Octop***y
If you look at the scene in Octop***y when they are on the Beech 18, after stopping the engine, the scene then cuts out to a full shot of the ‘plane, and you can see the sheen of the propeller as it turns, indicating the engine is still running, even though in the previous frame of film, Bond damaged the engine and caused the propeller to stop.
don’t forget the other white elephants
Someone should build an exact replica of R100….lol!
What about full size replicas of the Bristol Brabazon and the Saro Princess? They could be called the Jumbo Pair, in more ways than one as they were white elephants.
what about those left behind in the evacuation
I seem to recall reading in a recent edition of Aeropl*ne M*nthly that there was a Dragon Express left behind on Jersey. What became of it?????
What about the Tudor
What happened to the Avro Tudors Star Tiger and Star Ariel??

If you can read this, you’re too nose(y)
Written on the back of the C-130 obviously
correction
That should read XH 558, not 559. Sorry, my finger slipped.
The Comet
If Wikipedia can be relied upon, I’d like to see the DH 106 Comet 4C Canopus fly. Also, XH 559 of course, as I am sadly too young to remember it in active service.
