You could never real close either franchise, yes you could close certain story lines such as Ripley’s battles with the bugs. But if you think about it the Aliens and Predators are an idea, a species, you could create all manner of situtations to base a film on. All you have to do is look at the massive amount of material available in the graphic novels.

I very much doubt that they will ever make a film that will follow in the footsteps of the first of both Alien and Predator, although the second films of both were pretty good. The Crow was another example, fantastic first film, dumbed down action/horror flick for the second, StarShip Troopers 2 (WTF was that about??) I could go on with the sequel syndrome but its too depressing.

I for one will watch AvP safe in the knowledge that I expect nothing great from it, it will be a typical mainstream trainwreck of two of the greatest movie monsters of modern cinema. At least we can rely upon the endless supplies of plastic action figures and lunch box merchandise to pour from the highstreets once the film has been seen by all the kiddies.

I’m getting a little upset now so I better stop.

PS. Who here bought a life sized face hugger? Great aren’t they 😀

I am a massive evil dead fan! Have them all on DVD and Evil dead 2 is one of my favourite films!

Indeed Dog Soldiers is a classic piece of Brit film 😀

It was a very famous book that was given the movie treatment, stars the lead singer of Tenacious D, no more clues :p

I used to use the European terrain mesh but now use the England and Wales one from VFR. I have to say I’m quite impressed with it so far.

Any terrain mesh package is going to concentrate on a particular geographic location, so it really depends on what area you prefer to fly around. But any package should an improvement on the stock mesh of FS2004, I guess some are more accurate than others, but again that depends on wether you want something to look nice or to represent the real thing.

Just downloaded the move of some ingame footage. Can only saw one thing…………… SWEET. Thank god they chose the 1st film to base the game on, rather than the sorry excuse of a horror/soft porn flick of the second

Oh and please excuse me if I don’t post this weekend, I’ll be battling with the forces of hell on the Red planet. 😎

IL2 FB — including AEP if you want to try you hand at online gaming.

Lockon — for the modern stuff

FS2004 — for less violent trips and the associated sea of brilliant addons

Battlefield 1942 — not a true flight sim, but great fun

Combat Flight sim 3 — if you get bored of IL2 (as if)

Secret Weapons over Normandy — for some light hearted hollywood inspired action

Pacific fighters should be out soon, Fair strike for some rotary combat although I haven’t looked at this for some time.
