I’ll be there, I missed the last couple of engagements.

Two engines, WW2, so that’ll be the 262 then!:D Unless of course we limit the ac to stock only.

Anyone want to be my wingman then?

Filter did something on aeroplanes I think, can’t remember the title although it was on Title of Record.

Leaving on a jet plane, don’t know who sang it.

    Not just a thread starter.

I am looking into building an ac, I think it would be very rewarding to construct one myself, with the help of a few friends, who are also interested.

I understand that the process will be challenging and not necessarily cheaper than purchasing an off the shelf ac, but thats not the point.

I have always had a keen interest in learning to fly and it looks like I will have th oportunity to this year or the next. So I was keen on perhaps researching available kits to start to build in the next year or so once I have passed all exams etc (If I do that is :))

Just interested if anyone else has taken the plunge and built their own ac. I’m not looking at a a large bird, certainly not a tonne! Perhaps something falling into the ULA category.

    Comet,

Depends on your budget really, I would suggest about £150 sterling for a half decent card.

    There are two contenders:

    Nvidia based cards

    Ti4200
    Ti4400
    Ti4600
Ti4800 (same as Ti4200 but with 8x AGP)

Avoid the cards stating MX, they are cheaper but are based on old technology and do not perform half as well!

    Or the Radeon cards:

    9500
    9500 PRO
    9700
    9700 PRO

If you’re on a budget (approx £100-125) then go for the Ti4200 or 9500 PRO, if you have a bit more to spend then go for the 9700 or Ti4400. Finally if you want the best then go for the 9700 PRO, it is currently the best performing card on the market, and you can get them for about £250-300.

Nvidia are releasing a new card called the FX and I think models are starting to trickle into the market, however Radeon are also releasing a new model based on the 9700 but performing approx 30% better.

What spec is your PC, its just that FS2002 can be quite power hungry and even with a decent video card, performance ca be bottle-necked by other factors, such as processor speed etc. You have to bear in mind that the flight modelling in flight sims can be fairly matchs heavy putting a large load on the chip.

    Hope this helps.

    Enjoy FS2002.

“I am new to this forum and am just browsing the subjects, hence the rather late reply on this thread.
It’s so nice to see a picture posted that has been taken by a forum member instead of one taken from Airliners.net, like everyone else seems to do. Nice one Comet”

Here, here there should be more pictures straight from the lens rather than from airliners.net.

Why not start a comp? Best pic wins the admiration of fellow forum users.

I thought Saddam was trying to concentrate his forces in urban environments, afterall he knows he’s outgunned in open spaces.

If this is the case what is the likely tactic of the allied forces? As Glenn says to fight for Baghdad would most probably produce unwanted collateral damage and civillian casualties.
