Hi Deryck,
I saw the Harvard on the museum floor last weekend, it’s coming along quite nicely.
I haven’t seen or heard any local news about the museum commemorating the formation of the BCATP.
No shoveling snow today….just scraping!
Could it possibly be for blind flying instruction?
I’m not sure if this will help, but it shows the GGS mount from a turret.

Regards,
Nice work Elliott. The turret looks great!
Regards,
Thanks for the link!
It looks like it might have been used twice. Some of the bullet holes have been circled & others not.
We also have a “messenger” target. It’s marked RCAF with the broad arrow and also made my Ross-Smith. It’s made of white nylon fabric and looks like a small windsock, about 3ft. in length.
Hi Robert,
Here are few photos of a .30 cal can for a similar type mount.

Regards,
Here are the photos as promised.
It’s a nice piece, but it’s actually a ground target & not a towable air/air target. It’s approximately 12ft. square & full of holes. It’s marked RCAF with the broad arrow symbol, so it might even be post war issue.

We have a large orange RCAF target banner. It came from a local ex-Lizzie driver.
I’ll snap a few pictures when I can.
Excellent photos!
It’s great to see that Canada was well represented by the CWH & VWoC.
Any photos of the Kittyhawk flying with the Victory Flight?
This was the best shot my dad could get yesterday….while he was driving by!

The men & women of 8 Wing put on a great show! I’m still sorting through my pictures.
It was also my first time seeing Hawk One fly & hopefully not my last.
What are the plans for Hawk One when the ’09 airshow season is over?
Is this also a Rose turret? I note twin 50’s but different multi-part glazing. D
It’s a FN82 turret.
Excellent work!!!
I passed the museum yesterday and I must say the Herc looks impressive sitting in it’s new home.
Even with a wind warning the Lanc did make an appearance for the Bomber Command cairn dedication. It made two passes and touched down safely.
