Surprised to see the P-36 still there. I thought it was just over for the 2015 show on loan from its owners in the US?
Its owner is very much Stephen of the Grey variety. :p
Closely followed by EP122 Biggin Hill
The way it’s currently looking, EP122 will be the first to fly!
I believe MT818 was very close to getting back into the air quite a few weeks ago now, but that’s gone quiet again.
Thought PH was downsizing his fleet, wondering if anything will/has been part exchanged?
His Storch was sold, whether it could be to the previous owner of the Ryan as part of an exchange, who knows.
I’d imagine Brian Smith is pretty close to Keith Skilling with regards to the amount of hours in Corsair’s too.
Cliff Spink must be near to 1,000 hours in Spitfires, what with his BBMF days and numerous flights in the ARCo Spitfire’s.
Are ‘The People’s Mosquito’ folk anything to do with this I wonder?
No.
As I said, IF rumours are true. Nothing has been confirmed it to be 100%.

Sounds interesting…
HAC’s dH9 should be ready by/for next year too. Not to everyone’s cup of tea I’m sure but I for one can’t wait to see it in the air!
Maybe it’s a cultural thing but every airshow KA114 attended in New Zealand, it drew in large numbers of spectators – there was an entire show centred around it three days after its first post-restoration flight and it was standing room-only. I doubt that the tens of thousands attending were all die-hard enthusiasts. In addition, the airshow at Masterton featuring her had attendance numbers larger than any other in its 14-year history. The aircraft was all over mainstream news media from before her first flight.
I’d like to see a couple of Mosquitos flying in formation anywhere! Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t that last happen in the 1980s…in the UK?
Even though I’ve no chance of getting to any UK shows in the next couple of years, I follow with interest and excitement via the forum…and I think the next thing will be Shackleton 963! Or Just Jane.
Times have changed, technology has changed. Certainly in 1996 there was more quantity (as well as quality) with UK warbirds and back then, the Mosquito was passed as ‘another warbird’ along with BF109G ‘Black 6’ for example. I’m fairly confident with the power of social networking in today’s modern age, the return of a British thoroughbred, which along with the Spitfire and Lancaster, pioneered the RAF through the Second World War, would be the next best thing to the monumental ‘Two Lancs’ tour.
That would probably be Seafire III PP972 on its way to Biggin Hill!
I don’t recall much music being played with the exception of the beginning of the Balbo first run through and ‘Write Your Soul’ for part of the Joker Gladiator routine. It should be noted the latter was in memory of James Horner’s recent passing.
Total activity from today:
-Two Corsair sorties; one air test and one practice display. Both courtesy of KS.
-P-36 air test and practice display from SH including a final run & break that looked inches from the deck.
-TFC’s T-6 active all afternoon.
-Two TF-51 solo displays from St. NG.
-Jungmann and BHHH Cub arrived for the show.
PK and SG.
No worries, we all make mistakes! 🙂 hopefully all past problems with SX have now been rectified and she makes some airshows this year!
If that’s SX336 you’re referring to, that has a Griffon engine! 🙂
Excellent, David! Did MH434/TD314 display?
The Blenheim had a booking at Chalke Valley today.
