Just stumbled across this old thread , Uncle Arthur as he was known to me , not an actual Uncle but very good friends with my Dad since the 50’s, both sadly now long gone.
I have one box of his stuff , with some photos and diaries , spotting books that kind of thing.
Will try and get some of it copied and post it somewhere , it’s interesting stuff.

On the subject of Halifax’s, here’s another one here took of one, don’t know the date/location of this one.
This is PP217, the first Halifax VIII to be built.

    Hi
Been scanning some old photos of my Dads, could these have been from that film set ? Could they all have been taken at the same location, if so does anyone know where ?
And also anyone got a reg for the Casa ?

Why view this as a ‘remake’, its just another film about The Dambusters surely ? Drives me nuts that its referred to as a remake, is there a rule stating only one film must be made about each subject in the war ?
Is there only one film about D-Day, or only one film about the Navy in the War etc etc.
Just look at it as another film about the raid, and get on with life !!

There is a series of French aviation comic books I would love to see in English, it seems a couple have been translated, but I reckon they would sell well in the English speaking world.

ConnieFreak, I have attached some pics of Dad, one taken I am pretty sure when he worked in BOAC Cargo Res he is on the right, and two others where you can just about make him out, one at Hatfield in 1950 and one at LHR in 1948 with a BOAC York.
I imagine he must of frequented the Green Dragon Cafe, but no idea if he rode there on a bike across the ramp, wouldnt surprise me if he did !!
