Not a daytrip, more like 3 days , but it was all one trip.
When i worked for United Airlines i took advantage of our superb staff travel benefits, i did a trip where i tried to fly on all their different types of mainline fleet type aircraft in one trip, it went like this,
Day 1
Charlotte-Chicago-Los Angeles (overnight in LAX)
Day 2
LAX-Honolulu (down to Waikiki beach for an hour then back to airport), jumped on the DC-10 which came through HNL and onto Maui (20 min flight) had an hour in Maui then back to Honolulu, then overnight flight to Chicago.
Day 3- Chicago-Phoenix, then back to Chicago and Charlotte as the Sister-in-law had gone into labour so i needed to get back to help out with their other kids, the last leg should have been Phoenix-Seattle-London.
It was bloody tiring !! but a good time was had !

I saw Genesis at Twickenham in London last year, it was an awesome gig, to me Genesis is not all about the ditty little ballad/pop crap that they evolved into doing, listen to the earlier stuff when Peter Gabriel was the singer.
Try these two albums, Foxtrot and Selling England By The Pound, its awesome stuff, the song Suppers Ready its an absolute classic piece of prog rock.
A bit more heady is the double album ‘The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway’, quite complicated but well worth a listen.
I will never forget how Mike Rutherfords bass pedals were making Twickenham Stadium literally shake last year.
The early Genesis just cannot be compared to the latter day version of the band, they didnt play much from the early days sadly on the last tour, but there are persistant rumours that Gabriel will rejoin the band for a one off reunion tour sometime..

Lets not forget a plug for the song which apparently partly at least inspired Bill Smith to raise the wreckage, ‘ Out Of This World’ by Marillion.
United from LHR carries Royal Mail and Military Mail, only US carriers are allowed to carry US Military Mail.
If a couple of containers of mail are delivered to UA say in the morning, then they will generally fly out the same day, there are two types of Civil mail, First Class/Parcelforce and surface mail being sent by air instead, the former will get priority over Cargo, the latter is low priority and has a couple of days before it has to shipped out.
Other airlines treat mail as low priority, and ship cargo as higher priority.
Iberia for example can be pretty slow at shipping mail.

The increase in Police prescence prowling round the Cargo area was massive last week, there were constant foot and vehicle patrols, on a scale unseen since the 1st Gulf War.
I find it odd that when we had nutters driving a car into the terminal at Glasgow a couple of months ago we didnt see one extra Police Officer around Cargo, but some hippies over the North Side results in this
