    Hello,

Any other Canberras coming up for disposal? Any spares-aircraft such as last year? Anything left at RAF Marham or elsewhere? It is sad to see this beautiful aircraft retire.

    Hello,

It might not be of any help to you, there is a book:

‘Flying the P-12’ by S.L. Wallick.

It has some technical pictures in it.

You might know about the book, only looked through it once, looked interesting.

The details you are looking for might be the same as on the F4B.

Finally someone who understands what it is about!

You guys are arguing about flying Concorde and all the other aircraft, while your nation’s aviation history is rotting away.
The Concordes will look like the BA collection in a few years.
Your national museums are building expensive, hardly useable (for the display of large aircraft) designer buildings, while important aircraft and archives are being lost! Not to mention the historic sites.

    Aircraft outside do not last!

    Wake up ladies.

I appreciate your reaction, thank you for reading. And yes I meant Eastchurch indeed!

We had the Fokkers and some others.

But we never played such an important role in the development of aviation as your country did, the importance of sites like Farnborough to the development of aviation is enormous.
Nor was the Battle of Britain fought from any Dutch airfields (preserved frontline BoB stations?), nor were the vitally important airfields from the Eight Air Force and Bomber Command located in Holland.
I am not saying that we are doing any better, we are probably doing worse
, but we never had such an impact.

Lets compare it to the US, National Air and Space Museum? They have a preserved Concorde! All is undercover, not after twenty years. Fantastic storage facility.
    NMUSAF, Pensacola!

The fields where the pioneers flew from are National Historic Sites/Parks!

The spot where Cody flew from, the old officers mess (if I am not mistaken the oldest in the country), recently pulled down. The blak shed at Farnborough, how much longer?

Beautiful Bristol building (listed), have you seen it?

Your country has a fantastic aviation history, and many are making an exellent effort to preserve that, but I just hope and wish that more of the efforts in the UK can be long-term commitment rather than short term popularity stunts!

    Thank you for your reaction,

    Chris
