460 RAAF Squadron at Binbrook late 1944 had an aircraft with “Pistol Packing Mama” nose art. The Australian War Memorial has a photo – UK2411. Lanc code was P for Peter.

All the squadron ORBs are online here:

True, but the Aussie National Archives site has additional files relating to the unit.
The Australian War Memorial will no doubt have photos.

Have you tried the Australian National Archives website for any information? They have digitised some, if not all of the Aussie orbs and put them online. They may well also have other paperwork relating to the unit. Type “467 Squadron” into the search engine at the site and see what comes up.

Didnt some He111,s have a flamethrower in the tail as well?Having heard of the grenade launchers.
The RAF installed a rearward firing flamethrower in the bomb bay of a Beaufort. It never went beyond the trials stage though.

Speaking of richard branson, i just happen to know there is a post it note on his desk at the moment mentioning XH558
Yeh, it says “sod XH558, lets get that Soviet Stirling. We’ll be able to get it in the air more cheaply and faster”.

Snapped at East Fortune last weekend:

I also noticed, upon arrival, ( about 10:30 ) the length of the queues to get in. The queue at that time for collection of pre-booked tickets was just as long as the ” buy on the day ” queue which I would imagine would upset some people who had pre-booked in order to avoid queueing.
I wonder how many of those who arrived late just sat and watched the display from outside the venue, rather than joining the queue to get in? quite a few appeared to be doing so.

I had a great time as well. Well done to those who put the hours in. 😀

thanks guys i will try hendon rgds paul
Paul,
Whenever I have ordered plans from Hendon, it has taken about three weeks for them to arrive. Cost has been about £6 for a set of plans (each set has contained more than one sheet).

There’s also a Beaufighter at East Fortune.

The RAF Museum may have a copy of the plan. If so, they will sell you a photocopy.

Firs shouldn’t be too difficult to trap, they move pretty slowly . . .
(682al’s post #20)
Not sure about that. Remember that the trappers are in a Albemarle…
