Humberside is down to 26 flights next summer I think. There have been reductions from both My Travel and Thomson, including the dropping of Corfu flights. The Thomsonreductions are mainly if not completly to do with DSA.

However there will be a new flight to Fuerteventura, probably operated by Spanair.

Strangely though, the DSA based Britannia(sorry Thomsonfly) B737-800 is slated to operate some “W” rotations into HUY. I hope that DSA doesn’t take too much traffic away from HUY. I suspect that after 2-3 years, flights will drop to say 15-20/week from @32 this year. It would be interesting to know what proportion of HUY passengers come from the South Yorkshire area. IMO the residents of Hull and North-East Lincolnshire will still use HUY provided the destinations are available. I think the management of HUY missed a great opportunity here; the airport could have supported a few low-cost flights.

CO used to send DC-10s into BHX, there are a few pics on A.net etc, i dunno whether they tried this as a upgrade or whether it was pulled because of the retirment of the DC-10s, bad pax loads but as you can see BHX is more populer now with two 752s a day….and who knows maybe in the future it will get upgraded but CO seems to be happy with the way its goin now.

I remember the DC10 operating into BHX. IIRC this only lasted one season; a local spotter told me they had a problem handling the a/c(not sure why); so it reverted back to a 757.

I doubt very much that the ATR will be fully painted in the new cols; BMI are taking ages to re-paint their Airbus fleet and they are long term members of the a/c fleet. It would be nice to see another a/c type in their new cols though.

Good info there; I suspect that Martinair are either leasing or buying second-hand 747-400s; afaik no orders have been publicised by Boeing.
