    EAL King,

My timetable shows a flight departing to PMI at 0630(MYT433) which should be an A330!! No other Mytravel flights shown between 0630 and 0900. Interstingly the Mahon flight is opb a B767-300 so alot of capacity being offered at LGW.

Try this link; it gives all sorts of data. You can also find out number of passengers carried on each route and ac utilisation for each airline

    Economy seating on 757s fall into 3 categories;
charter config (Monarch, First Choice etc 228-235seats)
scheduled config (BA, CO etc 160-180 seats)
shuttle config (BA used to run @8 757s with 195 seats)
Whilst the 757 is a great ac, imo it can be a real pain when boarding/disembarking as 200+ passengers have to use 1 aisle.

I use that site but one thing to note; it doesn’t include any Ryanair flights.

It seems a bit odd to me that CO are operating 2 x 757s/day rather than 1 larger ac as at MAN/GLA; I assume that all the 767s and 777s are being used on other routes and there was a spare 757 that could be switched to transatlantic flights rather than domestic routes.

I flew Continental to Houston back in Feb 2001. These were the options then:

    1. LGW; Direct B777 to IAH
    2. BHX; B757 to EWR then B757 to IAH
    3. MAN; B777 to EWR then B767 to IAH

Guess which one I went for…not BHX even though it’s nearest to my home. The B757 is one of my favourite ac but I refuse to fly on one transatlantic. LGW is too far from home really and only 2 flights so I opted for MAN. On the return trip I deliberately chose a DC10 flt from IAH to EWR; great ac but very dated after B767/777.

Which days did you fly?; I flew LHR-MAD on BA458(G-EUPG) on Friday 11th and returned on the BA457(G-BNWW) yesterday. I recognise the photo of the AV and AMX B767s..

I would be suprised if BMIbaby take over the LBA-BRU service; this happened at EMA and the service has gone back to BMI regional due to the business nature of the route.

Regarding timings for EMA-BCN flights; I travelled twice this year to BCN and flew from MAN at a more sociable time even though it’s double the distance from home.

Back in March 2002 I flew HND-ITM(Tokyo/Haneda-Osaka/Itami) on a JAL B747-400D with 568seats!! Flight was full and took 50mins. Flight used like a bus service. JAL/ANA also use B777-300s on this service.

Here’s another very good site for cheap flights: http://www.traveljungle.com. They search all the usual sites: expedia, opodo, travelocity, all locos, BMI, BA etc. I’ve used them before and the saving over other sites can be £20 or more.

I checked my BA timetable(d/l from their site) and found the following:

    LHR flights on 319/320 and B767-300 in Jan/Feb 2005.(no 757)
LGW flights not listed in Jan/Feb next year.(Perhaps they stop in Oct)

To book flights I always use http://www.expedia.co.uk. They’re offering fares of £103 on BA from LHR and £109 on Malev in Jan/Feb. I can’t comment on Malev service, I usually pick my flights to go on a particular a/c.
    Malev 737 fleet currently contains 5 x 300s, 5 x 400s, 5 x 600s, 5 x 700s and
4 x 800s. Recent flights have been op. by 737NG.

PS You could go from STN for £84 on Malev 737

Good report; agree entirely ref. Iberia service. TC-ONM is owned by Onur Air(based Istanbul) and leased to Iberia. I have previously seen this a/c operating many flights from Bodrum/Dalaman into UK airports.

LBArules is correct; a contact at Mytravel told me that registrations were derived from employee(usually Director) and their family’s initials?
Could the B767 G-DAJC be registered in line with David Crossland initials?
Monarch seem to mix/match, some a/c follow a theme whereas others appear to be random or follow initials ie:

    The 757 fleet

    G-MONB/C/D/E
    G-DAJB/DRJC
