Good variety there; if I’d waited another hour there was also an Air Southwest Dash8 and an Air Europa 737 due in at HUY.
Fantastic shots; looks like cargo city!! Interesting to see a Korean A330; I didn’t realise these operated across the Pacific.
As a follow up to my last post; yesterday 2 x Thomsonfly a/c went sick so Titan 733, Germania 73G and Air Berlin 738 called in. Interesting that CAA stats show Britannia having the best on-time performance of the IT carriers; doesn’t say much for the rest?
Despatch reliability of 737s at DSA appears poor to say the least; there’s a different a/c type being subchartered almost every other day. They’ve had BY 757s, Astraeus 737/757s, Hola 757 then 737, Titan 757, Eirjet A320..the list goes on..
He meant Euromanx 😉
Fantastic shots, nice to see the aforementioned Euromanx still using interesting stuff!
I wondered that; just couldn’t believe that a Croatian? reg F100 would be operating for them..
Great shots; who are Euromax?
Great stuff! Looking forward to seeing you at LBA that morning :).
Did you get it for £37 as well?
Sure did; couldn’t resist at that price.
I’ve booked a seat on the Jet2 flights as well..should be a good day out.
I can’t understand why they ordered a large Boeing fleet in the first place when they had been acquiring Airbus 330/340s in recent years.
Shots were taken from aeropark on Castle Donnington side of airfield. TBH I rarely go to EMA since they closed the viewing deck in the terminal. The old viewing area was also much better; apparently the airport owners said this area was allocated for development so the viewing area had to move. Well, after @10 years they’ve done nothing with the original site!!
All of the FCA long haul programme is now operated on the 767-300.
The past 2 weeks G-OOAN has been operating the GLA flights.
Their 767’s have a 62J/196Y seating config – 258 seats in total.
Seat pitch will not be an issue.
Good to see a charter carrier at last operating a long haul flight with a sensible seating configuration.
I flew MAD-LIS-MAD last June with Iberia; they operate a real mixed bag of a/c. I managed to get a trip on a 757 and an MD-88. I spotted the following at Madrid: MD87/MD88/A320/321/B757/A340-300/A340-600/B747-200/B747-300. They have since brought their A319s back from Miami and added B747-400s(op by AAI/ex-SIA). Imagine if they still operated the A300s and DC10s..IB would probably win the prize for most varied fleet.
The are decks on the roof of both terminals; newer T2 handles more interesting airlines and overlooks taxiway between terminals/runways.
I would guess that the A330 will certainly operate some AMS-LHR sorties to begin with to enable crew to operate max. no of take-off/landings during initial operations.
Great report; my experience of Ryanair is similar. One of the 737-800s I flew on was also very tatty considering the age of the a/c. I am not a Ryanair fan; I only fly with them when there is no alternative carrier or the price justifies it. IMO they have gone too far with the cost-cutting; main issue is the non-reserved seating which just creates chaos everytime I fly with them.
