Bmused55,
You’ve explained the 3 door options on the 767-300 well but I think you’re quote in option 3) “This allows for maximum pax density. This config is popular with, though not limited to, charter carriers.” is incorrect imo. Surely for a maximum seating density you need the greatest number off large exit doors as detailed in option 1?? If you look at Britannia, First Choice and Mytravel, they operate the most dense configuration anywhere and all their a/c have option 1.(4 large doors)

BA appears to operate their B767s in 4 different configurations:
Club Europe/Euro Traveller
Old Club World/Euro Traveller
First Class/Old Club World/World Traveller
New Club World/WT Plus/World Traveller
No 767s operate in a “shuttle” configuration; infact even the long-haul 767s have recently flown the odd domestic service.
I guess that BNWH falls into category 2 and few other a/c share this seating configuration.

I flew MAN-EWR-IAH on Continental 777/767 in Feb 2001. They were very good; great cabin service, great IFE(all 767s have PTV), legroom wasn’t brilliant though. The B767-200 was only 3 weeks old back then!!

Have a great trip; I flew on both types this year. Not impressed by 767 but 777 was great. The IFE is excellent imo. The flight to EWR departed 53mins late today; the 767s usually go from a gate on Pier E (E9 today).

This has been debated alot already. The airport website shows the Robin Hood links; I (incorrectly) thought Robin Hood had no links to Doncaster until I looked here..
I can partly understand the reason why the locals want the airport re-named as Doncaster/Finningley. But realistically this won’t happen. The airport has to carry a name of a city/area that is recognised abroad(to generate more inward travel) and Finningley is hardly known in most parts of England. The airport is also not in Doncaster so I see no problem calling it Doncaster/Sheffield.(Robin Hood is a bit ott though) Let’s face it this policy has worked well for Ryanair. I don’t agree with all their destination names but it draws the customers which is the most important factor.
